Been waiting for you to show up...! Anyway, how is the duty free for booze at the airport? Litre of vodka for example?
Also any decent Romanian restaurants to go to. Many previous away trips it is too much pub time and little spent on culture and local cuisine. I intend to change the mindset of the fellas I meet at away games! RhylRed, remember that restaurant in Lyon? hahahaha
Never tried to buy vodka from the airport
But everything at Otopeni is outrageously expensive, I really wouldn't recommend it. Also - do not under any circumstances exchange money at the airport. The rates are awful.
In terms of restaurants - some of the better Romanian-specific restaurants are
- Caru cu bere -
http://www.carucubere.ro/en/homepage (close to Unirii square)
- La mama - lots of locations, including a couple downtown (Romana square)
- La scena -
http://www.lascena.ro - Unirii square (right next to where I live
)
- Terasa Doamnei - Universitate square - if you feel like listening to loud Romanian popular music
If you just want some pizza, I highly recommend Cafeneaua Actorilor - it's at Universitate square, right next to the National Theater.
Also - you shouldn't miss the Hard Rock Cafe in Bucharest - I've been to plenty of HRC's all around the world and this one is among the better ones
It's in Herastrau Park.
