Yeah, a lot of formerly rough areas have been gentrified, especially if they have good transport links.   Brixton is even getting a starbucks!

i used to play squash in brixton in the 90s

let me perfectly clear about this amir. i work in slough, nothing more! while i appreciate the beauty of the women hanging around the cash for gold shops on the high street and relish the lunchtime dining choice of subway or erm subway i am not and will never be a sloughser. ;)
Bad drive Ealing to Slough, fuck that.

Is that the first one you come to as you turn off at Kew Bridge? Will have to give it a try. Any of you folk ever drink in Ealing?
Duke of Kent is nice, in the broadway itself I would say the best of a bad bunch is O'neills sadly, Jonos is decent in Ealing Common.

I love Brixton. Especially the academy, seen some top bands there. The fridge too that was a cool club. And Mass. In fact Brixton is a top place...

I was joking. Brixton even today has an undeserved rep, though if you back to the 80's then it was rough.

Yes I do indeed, if you ever fancy a league game (or Sunday friendly game) let me know

May take you up on that, as mentioned not playing club cricket this year because of work, but I bet I will be gagging for a more regular game before long, my friendly Sunday games are only once or twice a month.

Right arm away swing, with a habit of picking up wickets although not the quickest by any stretch of the imagination. Geoffrey Boycott style right arm bat, tend to stick around buy score at about 10 per 100, not my strong suit. At your service!
It looks to me as if we have signed another 'average' player. I'll hold back my complete opinion until I see the lad play

Oops!

I live in Northwood.

I've only been around the city centre of Uxbridge, not much to do at all for a student but then the rest of London is right around the corner. I guess as a town it's well kept just a bit empty.

Right ok to clarify, I live in Ickenham, which is not a shit hole, just didnt think people would have heard of it as its a small place between Ruislip and Uxbridge. Uxbridge is a great town,  but Cowley where a lot of Brunel students rent isnt too clever, do you rent in Barchester or Heritage close where they are nearlly all student houses? if so you might be one of my tennants!!

i've just moved to clapton after 15 years around queens park and kensal rise.  its a bit of a paradigm shift after the convenience of the tube and overground station in kensal rise particularly with me still on crutches but its not without its advantages.  more parks than you can shake a stick at and a lot more after hours club and party action.

london fields is rocking any time the sun comes out and its namesake pub is always good on a sunday if you're into quality house and the more off key end of disco.  slightly short of restaurants at the higher end - bistrotheque is both over priced and over rated for my tastes - the local vietnamese and turkish community mean that its not hard to get a value feed.

Nah, that's abit of a myth. I live in Herne hill myself, moved down from north london. It's a lot nicer down here - more of a community etc - and a nice big park.

you are very lucky then.  on the rare occasions i'm forced south its always a nightmare both getting there and getting back but then even addison lee wouldn't do cash pick ups from parts of kensal rise and the last time i got a cab in hackney the driver had just been back from the old bill reporting being held up.  so much for the wild west... ;D
