Planning on getting tickets for a gig if its just for the Oasis tracks he will play ,loved the Unplugged show he did for MTV.Bet they will be gone in minutes though.

You heard the Albert Hall acoustic set he did mate? The Dreams We Have as Children? It's great. Does a great Wonderwall, and that's actually one of my least favourite Oasis tracks because of the amount of times it was played! :)

Really disappointed on my first listen but now its stuck in my head.

Having heard Stop The Clocks and Record Machine 3/4 years ago (and liking them), I think this album could be pretty decent.

How on earth did Liam get so full of himself that he thought that bringing out a clothing line was a good idea. Ironic this was at the core of the argument that led to the split of Oasis.
Well, this piece is called "Lick My Love Pump".

I agree with the general consensus by the way. I haven't really given Beady Eye much of a listen and have no real desire to but I'm really looking forward to hearing Noel's stuff, I like the first single already and more often than not he always seemed to hold some of the better stuff back with Oasis albums.

What's he been saying?
Gallagher left 'weird' messages for Noel

Liam Gallagher left a series of "weird and creepy" messages on his brother Noel's voicemail as Oasis fell apart.

The pair haven't spoken since the Wonderwall hitmakers split following a backstage bust-up at a gig in Paris, France in 2009.

Noel Gallagher recently insisted Liam sparked the spat by demanding to advertise his fashion range in Oasis tour programmes - and now he's accused the singer of attempting to unnerve him with late-night phone messages.

The guitarist claims his brother's campaign was so prolific he was forced to change his number - and alleges Liam then targeted his girlfriend instead.

Gallagher tells Mojo magazine, "The tour started and everything was all right, but then the f**king clothing thing started up, and he wanted to advertise in the tour programme. I said no... He hit the f**king roof.

"From then on I would be getting up in the morning and our answering machine would have strange messages from him in the middle of the night. It started off as offensive, then weird, and finally creepy. We changed our number. I'd go in the next day and say, 'What was that all about?' and he'd say, 'I don't know what you're talking about.'

"When we changed our number he started leaving messages on my (girlfriend's) phone. She'd get up in the morning and there would be things like, 'Tell your f**king boyfriend...'. This was insane."

Liam Gallagher declined to comment on his brother's claims.

Gallagher tells Mojo magazine, "The tour started and everything was all right, but then the f**king clothing thing started up, and he wanted to advertise in the tour programme. I said no... He hit the f**king roof.

I saw the press conference where he spoke about this. He said that he eventually said to Liam "Alright, you wanna advertise in the programme. How much are you gonna pay me?"

Now I dont know whos in the right or wrong of the argument about advertising in a programme and I dont much give a fuck but I found this comment revealing. Hes basically said to him - "I own oasis and if you want to advertise off the back of it you have to pay like anyone else would" (I think in the press conference he used electrolux as an example) Im no particular fan of Liam but I can understand him taking great offense to this attitude, as surely oasis was something they had built up together and had joint ownership of? I very much got the impression from the comment that he pretty much viewed Liam the same as the rest of the band members - as a member of his staff basically. If thats the case I understand how that would have driven Liam up the wall.

"From then on I would be getting up in the morning and our answering machine would have strange messages from him in the middle of the night. To me it sounds like the same attitude that Noels always shown when it came to the commercialisation of Oasis, himself and his music as a commodity. If anyone else wanted to do it, if the other band members had dared suggest something like that, advertise me daughters school fete, they would of been told to fuck off for a start and second if they pushed it how much are they willing to pay.

Its as much about not diluting Oasis's identity as anything else, which Noel always came across as a staunch guardian of. I think Liam was out of order wanting to advertise his side project using Oasis, it was always Oasis first and fuck everything else, one reason Noel never went solo earlier on, which he could of done and come back, but Liam always stated if Noel fucks off to do a Noel record then Oasis are finished, yet here he is wanting to use the band to advertise his over priced sweat shop t-shirts and its fine.
If Noel had tried it Liam would of said fuck off, as its been said to him he threw a tantrum, which has always been his m.o, been seen time and again that he is a fucking whiney little bitch when he doesnt get his own way.

I dont think its far wrong to say Noel saw Oasis as his band, as the story goes when he joined it was on the understanding he was boss, he wrote the songs and said what goes. I dont see anything wrong with that to be honest, sometimes in order to succeed you need someone to be the dictator, plus the way I see it Noel was Oasis, no Noel and what you have is Beady Eye, which is nothing like Oasis.

Hard to disagree with any of that. You dont go advertising clothes by TopShop in the Gig programmes so Its the same principal which applies to Pretty Green.
Its also a matter of taste and not selling out to the fans. Oasis were not involved in many sponsorship/marketing deals with companies throughout their career which for me at least, gave them a certain credibility. Look at most popstars these days and they'll put their names to any old shite.
Oasis weren't about that.
Only Liam would of made money from the Pretty Green shit in the programmes. No one else. So fair play to Noel, id have said Fuck Off also.
And like it or not Noel was the leader, all the members from the beginning to the most recent were aware of that and you do need one.
Liam's just being a cock, as ever.

I agree that Noel was in charge and it worked. If Liam hadnt have been in the band then Noel could still have got it off the ground due to the quality of his songs. But they wouldnt have had anywhere near the level of success that that they did. In thier heyday they had the best pop/rock songwriter around at the time and also the best frontman around at the time with the best voice (at the time) in the same band. That was oasis.

I think Liam is a bit of a knob now but back then when I was a teenager he could have me and seemingly entire audiences captivated. Thats a scarce commodity that elevates things to a different level. Whenever you see the live footage from the 90's hes very impressive so you do have to give him his due.
