Steve Claridge is a tool of the highest order. BEFORE the Chelsea game he felt we would win the league. AFTER the Portsmouth game he thinks we have thrown it away.

ive emailed and complained to setanta and we are cancelling tommorow......pathetic

anyone thinking of cancelling, beware, its very, very difficult
there's a thread on MSE (MartinsMoneySaving.com)

you are better of sending a letter recorded delivery stating you want to cancel
otherwise your on the phone forever and a day and nothing gets cancelled
and don't forget you need to give them a month's  notice

good luck

What a :wanker Tim Sherwood is.

"You can't rely on just 2 or 3 players to win you the League"

Remember your Blackburn days? Remember the SAS??? If it wasn't for those two your pathetic excuse for a "career" wouldn't even have that one medal! ::)

Anyway, those that spotted Gerrard - nice to seem him realise that if he can't help us on the pitch he can be the 12th man instead... ;D

I think we'd have won the league if we'd sold Keane to Man United.

Are you sure you were watching the Liverpool game?
Don't think he was - the game me and you were watching had lots of decent passing and chances, so he must have been elsewhere...

It's best to just ignore idiots like sherwood.  They are just bitter that Liverpool are doing great things.  As long as we can keep proving these pundits/commentators wrong, I will be a happy man.  Time and time again we have proven the doubters wrong.  It's a sweet feeling.

Oh, and Nugent?  What's the score, lad?  What is it?  Come on, tell us.  What's the score?

I believe it's Portsmouth 2 - 3 Liverpool.  Keep proving them wrong, Reds, keep proving them wrong.
King Kenny.

I understand why you guys get pissed at Sherwood and co, but I think we shouldn't even dedicate the times for these lot. We don't need gratification from the words of pundit, if anything the stinging words of criticism and demoralising comments should be admired as it provides a fuel for us to drive and kick on. If in our hearts and heads we know we are on the right path, then we don't need to seek the words of pundits. Anyone can sit in a studio and say x,y and z but the reality is they don't know the half of it, if they properly analysed and gave concerted evidence and examples of plays, tactics utilised incorrectly or poor decision making which is not BLATANTLY obvious I would actually listen but the problem is right now the footballing pundits in the majority are football illiterate cvnts who may have played the game but never thought it or actioned it from a tactical and managerial perspective. Thats why the better pundits (if they don't have an agenda) usually comprise of foreign players or managers or former great managers. Alan Hansen is a long established pro and a well established pundit but King Kenny at punditry takes him to the cleaners without even whincing. Thats why when the Merson's, Redknapp's and Sherwood's of this world speak, I avoid to listen.

Sherwood basically said we'll never ever win the league with this squad since it's so poor apart from 2 or 3 players.

So nothing different from any other pundits

"Liverpool Cannot win the title with their current squad, not in a million years. You cannot just rely on 3 or 4 players throughout a season, and Liverpool are doing that, if you look at Man Utd they have; Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez." Tim Sherwood.

sums up the fucking idiocy of sherwood

Hmmm, never heard his analysis but he does sound like a bit of a thickie. Of course if he said this with any sort of bile, it would automatically make him a wankstain.

Just saw the highlights on Irish TV.

Ray Houghton (you'd swear he never played for us) He says it was a lucky win getting a late goal. As when when Unshited score late goals it's always "great determination" "they never give up" type of crap.

Also John Giles and Houghton cristising Rafa's starting 11. If it was Ferguson or Mourino they would be calling it a "master stroke!"

The reason I get pissed of with these pundits is because they want us to fail, they want us to lose. They are trying to pile on the pressure. It's either us or them, and I'm fucked if it's going to be us. If they want to play these games then they can suffer the consequences.

Listen, we're all a bit excited and I'm as made up as anyone else. 3 points tonight was crucial or else we could wave bye-bye to the mancs. But let's be honest - Rafa's selection tonight was a fuckin shambles. I can't ever remember a more negative/baffling selection in all my years following the reds. He got out of jail by bringing on the players who should have started the match. If he ever works out that you could win a game and then give your players a rest, rather than hanging in there and then grabbing a spawny win in the last few minutes, then we might just have a chance of winning this league. Until then, we remain on the edge of our seats just waiting for the next disappointing draw which will, ultimately, cost us the points we need to win the thing.

Made up and pissed off in equal measures tonight. However - COME ON YOU IRONS!!

It was a 9 ?

Don't think it was a 9, as his left index finger and thumb would've been more curved. They're quite straight which makes it look more like a triangle...

I think we'd have won the league if we'd sold Keane to Man United.

30 day clause

When I cancelled, I phoned up you have to give them 30 days from your next payment date, They then ask to send a email to confirm this, Kepp sending it till you get a reply confirming they recieved it, it took 3 attempts.

They will then cancel your subscription, about 2 weeks before the 30 days is up....

Anyway onto the game, Excellant result especialy after the mid week result against the bitters.

We have now got 15 days to rest some of the players,

Back to the top of the league.

sums up the fucking idiocy of sherwood

What fucked me off about that was the fact that neither Macca or the commentator answered him with, 'what about the first team'?  I know the mancs are favourites and our squad isn't as strong, but if we were to touch lucky and have no injuries to key players (unlikely I know) then there's less reliance on the fringe players, or 'squad'.

Anyway, can understand the reasoning behind Rafa's team, and in the end we won the game.  But fuck do we leave it late.  On the bright side the timing of the goals in the last 2 league games is similar to what UTD have been doing for yrs when under pressure.

Of course I'll ignore the late goal in between in the cup as that's another thread!

Really have to hope we have no major injuries to the key players for the rest of this season.  Wish Torres or Rafa would fuck this poxy friendly off during the week.  What chance Rio or Terry flattening Fernando?

Just in case you missed it when jumping straight to page 18 to post you maybe ought to read the following as its the best summary in the thread.I would have just said Torres/Kuyt andAlonso were knackered but El Campeador puts it much better

He certainly is.

"To a lesser degree, Kuyt"?? What you on - he created the first goal by stretching them, he scored two more, one by stretching them (although it got disallowed unfairly I thought) and was generally running Pompey ragged. He certainly stretched Pompey more than Torres did, who was on for one reason - turn a half chance into a winner.

Had Rafa started Torres, Alonso, and Kuyt, we may have struggled due to the fact that they've been playing a lot lately. Instead, Rafa tired out the opposition, and clinically picked the order of his subs to perfection.

First Kuyt to stretch them out by running like a madman.

Then Alonso to spray the ball around, and shift Aurelio to the left wing, where he could bomb in the crosses.

Finally, with just enough time for Torres to score, but not to get slowed down, he throws on the superstar to win the game.

Absolute perfection from the manager I thought. If it wasn't for a disallowed goal, we'd have done this sans the heart attacks.
