one of the best trips ever, went on the open top bus on the tuesday what a brilliant city it looked in the sun,bit different from october, was in the plaza mayor on the tuesday afternoon, even then we outnumbered the porto fans by about 3-1..found out the team where in the ritz,so about 10 of us went in wednesday lunch,no problems getting in,no wonder at 11 euros for a bevvie..had one each, well worth it as had some great photos with rafa + the team..
headed back to the the plaza mayor, fantastic atmosphere, with all the balls getting kicked everywhere, irregulars flag lookin class hanging from the top balcony....got in the ground about hour before kick off,no problems, ended up front row of the £58s,crackin spec...also bit of a difference from sunday, our support was immense!!!!!!stayed at the praga, loads of reds staying there again, thanks to pi of R.A.W.K. for the use of his laptop yesterday morning so i could sort out villa p.t.s. tickets.....as i said one of the best ever,3 things i will remember about this one,3,THE WEATHER,2,THE SUPPORT!,1,YOSSI'S GOAL!winning in the bernabau!!!!CLASS!!!!

Just wanted to drop a big thank you to the Madrid Reds. had a good time with your lot.

I was in the Triskell tuesday night but left around midnight so missed you if you showed up after the supporters match.

Also dropped in Wednesday after the match. Bought our good friend Jesus a bevvie. Great Red he is.

Hopefully we draw a Madrid side again and I can make it back over again.. :wave

LOL... I was in the triskel and met up with neilt on tuesday night. All I remember was that it was very late. I think I also met Jesus.

There were 4 or 5 of us downstairs at the Triskel chatting away after the Man utd match Tuesday. Maybe came upstairs the last 1/2 hour or so before leaving to walk back to the hotel by Plaza Mayor. About a 20 minute walk past the street hookers. ;)

So anybody go over without a ticket and have to watch it in a bar in Madrid?

I ask because I'm split between travelling to Europe in September/October for 3 group stage matches or go over for the knock outs rounds - second round or chance it and aim to go for the quater finals.

Put it this way was the atmosphere in the build up around city to the Porto v Liverpool away tie comparable to the atmosphere in the build up aound the city to the Real v Livepool away tie?

I went without one and didn't get one. Still had a boss time. Went for Atletico with a ticket and had a boss time before the game.

Just depends who your with and what happens overall.

Also beating Barcelona in the Nou Camp on my birthday takes some beating.
