Yeah I saw Real play Valencia there in Oct 04. They won 1-0, Owen scored. It's an impressive setting for a game, but apart from the butters behind the goal to the left of the main TV angle it's not the loudest place.

Allocation is standard really, think for cl games madrid just holds around 71000. plus the club maybe didnt accept the full allocation madrid offered.

Prices don't bother me too much. The amount does though. I expected at least 50 nicker, but 3000 isn't enough. If you think the price is too high now, wait until the touts get their hands on them. the c*nts will have a field day

That being said, £88 pounds is the cost of a Premier Club seat and £10 short of Thomas Cook tout package at Anfield. It's horrifying. No doubt we'll be treated like shit on top of that...

I understand, but I just wish we had a chance to play in Germany. It seems like the promised land as far as football fandom is concerned and a stark contrast to Spain's high prices.

State of the bogs in Atleti, people were pissing over the balcony at one point and we're paying more than any English ground for that!

Forgot about the view. We went up to the top and it wasn't too bad. The bogs were shite though, just a wall with a gutter at the bottom. 6 of 1 I suppose.

Here's some info from a guide I have.

The metro tube runs at 6am. There are two stops at T2 and T4 in the airport. It is Line #8.

The busses run earlier at around 5am. There are direct busses from Intercambiador de Avenida de America ( transport interchange on Avenida de America). That is a tube and bus stop in the Northern part of the City. One bus goes to T1, T2, T3. A different bus to T4.

It's a €20 fine plus cost of the ticket if you are caught without one.

Someone in Madrid can update if i have it wrong.

PS: there is a tourist information booth in T1 and T4..someplace to verify what your options are when you land.

We were in that situation last time.  You're kept in the ground after the match for a while, and the last trains on the Metro leave around midnight so we didn't really have time to do much other than get on a train to the airport.  Ended up getting to the airport around 12:30, and with a 6am flight we just sat around for three or so hours having a beer, then checked in and boarded, there's a little cafe where we sat with a couple of beers and sandwich.  Obviously it's not perfect, but its not an unpleasant way to spend the night either.

I don't remember exactly, but for some reason I want to say about 20-25 minutes, although late at night the trains are less frequent so you can add another 10-12 minutes to that.  It was probably 40-45 minutes from the Calderon stop, but we had a change about three times.

More than that, I'd say. There's at least two changes from most places in Madrid (if your accomm is in the centre/south as most is) - the airport's up in the northeast of the city. If you're on a budget flight from T1, add about a 15 minute walk to your desk from the Metro stop - it's an absolute mission at Barajas.

We had about five hours to kill at the airport, so the 15 minute walk wasn't too bad.  I didn't time the journey that carefully either, so you're probably right when you say its a bit longer.  The Bernabeu is a lot closer to the airport than the Calderon though, and I'd say that its very likely we'll be going directly to the airport again (Monday lunchtime-Thursday early morning for us).  What days are you out there this time mate?

Sent off our applications this morning so hopefully grab the £58 seats.

Metro to the airport actually costs E2 as even tho you pay a euro for your ticket, when you get to the station at the airport you have to pay another euro just to get into the airport proper, still dead cheap tho and the metro is class, just 25-30 mins max from city to airport and all the main squares etc are all in walkin distance from one and other.

According to my Madrid City Guide.. the extra Euro supplement is from T4 only.

Santiago Bernabeu is on the Metro 10 line. One stop from Neuvos Ministerios.

Metro line 8 is the train line that goes to/from the airport.

So take Line 8 to Neuvos Ministerios ( last stop from the airport), change to Line 10 North for Santiago Bernabeu.

Reverse to go to the airport.
--------------------------------------

If you are in or about Plaza Mayor with the gang partying before the match....

Go to Sol tube station and take Line 1 north to Tribunal and change to Line 10 north for Santiago Bernabeu.

If you miss that stop, continue on to the Plaza de Castillo stop and take line 10 south from there to Santiago Bernabeu.
--------------------------

Anyone in Madrid that knows the Metro can update if i'm wrong.
