No Roots, Beastie Boys, Hieroglyphics, Cypress Hill.

We could sit here naming hundreds of artists and songs, to be honest.

Beastie Boys overrated.

They really aren’t.
Some of of the most important records of their time with Pauls boutique and Ill communication. Also they kept releasing good records through two more decades. Sure, they are silly and camp, except when they aren’t like on the post 9/11 To the 5 boroughs.

I wouldn't have any of their songs in the top 25.

The new Benny The Butcher and Smoke DZA EP produced by Pete Rock dropped today.

Benny might be the best in the game right now.

How fucking dope is it that we are getting a full length Gang Starr album on November 1st? The first 2 tracks have been fucking incredible.

I actually enjoyed JESUS IS KING. The production is incredible, I mean Kanye’s lyrics are pretty poor but I actually like gospel music and enjoy it mixed in with the production. He’s got the fucking Clipse back on a track aswell!

His best album since YEEZUS for me.

Agreed with this, it's different and has created a whole new type of song in my eyes. Very uplifting album. Hasn't hit the heights of a Life of Pablo for me, but massive improvement on Ye.

The production is incredible. No Malice goes in!

Premier and Pete Rock are #1 and #2 favorite hip-hop producers. Gonna check out their new stuff.

I have some friends that are a bit younger than me, they keep banging on about Dababy. Is he any good?

Da Baby is some hood shit. If you like classic hip hop...probably not the right person to be listening to.

Griselda is good. The Game I've only heard bits, but I always go back to The Documentary and Doctor's Advocate with him. The first one especially is a classic album in my eyes, it's flawless and DA is damn near perfect too.

Just seen The Game's new one is 90 minutes long! Will have to take that in chunks. Yep The Documentary and Doctor's Advocate are brilliant albums. Still remember the first time I heard Higher, How We Do, Westside Story and It's Okay - great times.

Looking forward to the Griselda one, loving their work so far.

That is some good news, about time. I haven't listened to him anywhere near the amount I used to when I had CD's. Looking forward to revisiting some of those early classics.

Definitely my favourite hip hop addition of the last few years. I have a playlist of their shit that is like 8 hours long. I cant even do that with Nas' life projects.

They could fall off tomorrow and they'll go down as one of my favourites ever.

Only listened once and im not sure on the exact meaning behind the song and all the lines as of yet, but there is a lot of reference to terrorism and terrorist events e.g. church shootings and 9/11. Not sure why people are getting so offended, he has written lines a hell of a lot worse in the past.
It's part of his style, he doesn't mean any of it!

Listen to Darkness if you want to know his true thoughts on such events. That song is a masterpiece.
And if the rain stops, and everything's dry.. she would cry, just so I could drink tears from her eyes.

You don't need to find a way. I mean I get why people are offended but its nothing new, and he told everyone 20 years ago "half the shit I say I just make it up to make you mad, so kiss my white naked ass/ and if its not a rapper that I make it as I'm gonna be a fucking rapist in a Jason mask"
Or when he shot up a whole line of bullies at Columbine, or when he raped his mom. So called "the biggest eminem fans" were cool with that, but referencing the manchester bombing is a step too far....another example of a hypocritical society who pick and choose what to be offended by but dont care about other offensive stuff, or because it doesnt hit their radar.

^not aimed at you btw  :wave

Personally not feeling the album here compared to Kamikaze but like a few odd tracks, props for getting black thought and q-tip on a track. And juice wrld (rip)
Edit: paak is just fucking ridiculous on that feature also

The new and final Mac Miller album is great and sad.

Im going to listen to that later, looking forward to it.

Great em interview with crooked on crooks corner. Theres a lot of back and forth complimenting between the two which I always find a little cringe when your in anothers presence. But also I know I'm a self confessed stan but hearing eminem talk about hip hop you realise he's so in to the whole culture, like he could talk for days about it and I think this is the most in depth interview I've ever seen him give. Its really refreshing to see someone so passionate about the culture of emceeing. But it's something you dont get with alot of new artists now, they might reference their inspiration but not to this level.

Plus it really puts into perspective the kind of work ethic you need for this kind of longevity and also it really puts to shame my kind of enthusiasm for hip hop in comparison.
