Another 84 tonight

A lot of steady golf

Sure I have a sub 80 in me this year. Handicap down to 15.9

Love to get to sub 15 handicap and a sub 80 this year now

I guess it's just a question of working out where your losing shots. My pb is 87 and it was nice that I actually won a big comp with that score. My strength is chipping and putting as my ball striking can be a little inconsistent, I've started hitting it really well now and suddenly my chipping has gone to pot!

Had a gross 89 at Porthmadog today which I'm made up with considering I've never played it before, should have been at least two shots better - when will I learn to take my medicine and just chip out! Drove the ball really well, the new swing feels great, seven pars and only had one 7 and an 8 - both should have been chip outs for a 5 and 6.

Shot at 75 off 8 today, so net 67 and won low net in the group of 28
Light drizzle for 9holes and also pissed it down for a few. This fucked the Texans as they can't play in the rain  ;D

Could have been better, was pretty much putting for birdies on most holes, furthest putt was about 20feet. Only made 1

Had a shotgun start on Saturday. Par 3 11th to start at 160 yards. Played it the day before with a nice birdie. Previous day out playing a few holes and hit 6 balls into it, all within 4 yards.  First shot today lost a ball into the woods with a wicked hook. Couldnt find it and couldnt be arsed going back to hit again so NRd it. FFS!!!

Won a towel on a 187 yd par 3 nearest the pin though. And would have won another but that hole was for guests only, a yard away on a 170 yarder.

F*cking game!!!

So that first ball, you can drop 2 shots, so playing 4 with the new rules
And you can drop on fairway before hole

I thought it was stroke and distance. Which is basically back to the tee and playing 3 in this case. Or back to within a club length of where you hit if on fairway/rough etc.

The drop and 4 is only if local rules apply is it not?

I knew I could have gone back to the tee but couldn't be arsed as I was so pissed off.

Stupid game
Dropped 7 shots in first 5 holes then came in even from there
Shot a 79 and won 2 closest to the pins so took home money

Been playing a lot lately.

Shot a gross 76 the other day (from the yellows) and have been striking the ball really well. Have concentrated on my follow through and it's made a big difference to my driving accuracy coming back. realised I'd gone a bit Tommy Fleetwood with a cut down follow through - but was not keeping my arm extended through the strike, almost trying to drag my arms round to a finish position too quickly.

Just having to concentrate on it more now as I think I'd just got totally lazy.

Played today and the strike was very good again. Not sure whether to go for the abbreviated Tommy F swing with my irons or go full swing. Theres deffo at least a 5 yard difference - for me anyway. Putting was shite today, must have missed 4 or 5 4 footers which I was nailing with confidence last week.

Will probably play shite on Wed.

Oh and got a new Motocaddy bag off Gumtree - brand new, but £70 cheaper than other outlets, so that can go towards some new winter shoes - any recommendations? I like the look of the Sketchers, need to be spiked for up here though.

Better today. 35 points playing off 16. Follows 30 yesterday

Not striking the ball well but scored ok so guess that’s half the battle. Only got one or two more rounds before Florida trip so hopefully sharpen up a bit

Slowly but surely getting there, considering I'm a newbie and dreadful.

Played a par 68 last week and shot 98, which is less than 3 figures so I'm delighted. Next step, get used to the driver!

Playing a member guest comp soon

2 day scramble/ best ball / alternate shots etc

80 people signed up
Playing partner plays off +1, myself 7

Going to get rinsed by the 13-18 handicappers
We’ll have a combined handicap of 4 I believe

Should be fun though, will be a long weekend of drinking eating and golf

Another 81 with 3 double bogeys, this game is infuriating  ;D

What sums up my game - 18th par 5,  210 yard shot with 5iron 30 feet away for an eagle - proceeds to 3putt. Drive for show - put for dough  >:(

Was up at Gleneagles today for kit issue and security stuff for doing Travelling Marshall for The Solheim Cup next week.

Nice Ping gear. Polo, fleece, waterproof and hat. And managed to blag a free Beanie or two on the sly. And a free Season ticket that I obviously don't need :-)

Got fitted for the Ping g410 driver on saturday. Have to wait a few days for it to arrive though, as they didn't have the shaft ready to go.

It's a bitch commuting and getting time to play, plus this summer s weather sucks.

I can’t wait to I break 100 - good effort in such a short space of time.

Have you tried a lesson in relation to the driver issue?

breaking 100 took me a long time. finally did it in carton house one day, think it was 94 or 95 and could have been better

i three putted from 8 feet on the 17th and on the last went out of bounds.

did it a few times since. 94 was probably the best i went around in.

Highlight of the round for me was par on the 497 yarder par 5, buzzing about that one. To be fair it is a par 68 rather than 72 so I don't consider myself to have broken 100 just yet!

Maximum two putted everything which I was really pleased about.

First round in Florida today

Played off the back tees accidentally (realised after five but stuck with it)

Shot a personal best 81

Handicap down to 13.9

Delighted but could and should have broken 80

Playing in a member guest all weekend

My golf partner is a +1, I'm a 7.
Today we shot a 67 in better ball for 9holes and scramble for 9. Not kidding, but my partner had 6 putts that lipped out.
Made every par5 in 2 and missed every eagle putt. 7birdies and 2 bogeys, and both bogeys we were putting for birdies lol. Shocking

Sometimes you believe you can play this game, then you watch a proper golfer for 18holes, truly mesmerising watching them go round a golf course.

Shot a gross 137, 7!under par. Lowest score by 4
As it was in 8 flights we had a shootout for 8 teams

First 3 holes hardest on course
We didn’t get shots and every other team got a shot on each

Birdied the first and second, then i missed an 8 foot birdie. We were out to a team that then 5,5,4 but has a pop on each

Great weekend, good fun and my partner didn’t carry me, thanks fuck 😂

Well Sawgrass....brutal. Fairways running quicker than most greens back home!

I drove well and putted well. Irons poor. 26 points which to be honest I’m ok with

Par at 16, par 17 (with second ball :D ) and bogey at 18

Great course and really a one off experience
