So realistically its, Anderson, Nemeth and  Insua at present. I mean if we got 2/3 young lads coming in every year/year and a half that would be fantastic,

Some of the lads i've been impressed with in the Ressies/Youth/Loan:

Tomato Pourie
Theres something about this lad i like, misses a fair few chances but attempts incredibly difficult ones too.
Definately one i'm gonna keep an eye on, looks to have a natural eye for goal.

Nabil El Zhar
In a similar boat to Leto although Leto is newer to the country. Looks one of the best in the reserves and the next to make the step up, but when in the first team looks like a fish out of water. Think the lad will go on to be a decent player but not liverpool calibre.

Danny Guthrie
On loan and doing excellent at bolton, i wouldn't sell the lad just yet as he may have what it takes. Not a doubt in my mind this that will make it to at least a regular uefa cup team. Whether or not he takes a further step up i don't know, time will tell.
Looks very comfortable on the ball from the first time i seen him as a sub at anfield, nothing spectacular but not a foot wrong.

David? Amoo
Fantastic goal return considering he's been on the right wing but everytime i've seen him it looks like he has an awful touch, not sure if this lad will make it. Hope im wrong.

Astrit Ajdarevic
Extremely talented footballer and a creative brain, 2nd year in the academy now and he's growing with each game. Eye for a sublime pass or shot, definately one too watch. He'll be a regular in the ressies next year if not out on loan.

Next Year:

Guthrie if he isn't sold.
El Zhar may get a few runouts if not sold/loaned.
Leto who i havn't included above, can see him getting around 10 apps + next season.

And Insua and Nemeth for the weaker teams such as the carling cup and lower league FA ties etc.

Can see hobbs going out on loan for valuable experience to a promoted club.

I'm not too sure yano, it will be one of Kewell Staying and Leto Loan.

Or Kewell Going and Leto in the squad next year.

That's what i think at least.

i'd say it depends on what happens in the next 6 months.  i'd like to see leto go to santander - just because he could do with the gametime.  he could be a flop there, and kewell may be shite for the next 6 months, so we may not want either of them!

Who else will be sold from the Reserves/Youths in the summer?

Have we really got a player called tomato? I want him in the first team now.

Edit:
His name's Marvin. I'm so disappointed  :(

I'd rather be called tomato than Marvin.

Liverpool have invited Finnish starlet Simon Skrabb for a trial at Anfield.

It is the Skrabb's second trial at Liverpool after he linked up with last August.

The 13-year-old has been recommended to Reds boss Rafa Benitez by the club's Finnish scout Tor Sparv.

Skrabb is an attacking midfielder and he is regarded as one of the most promising prospects in Finnish football.

Skrabb's club Jaro have confirmed the youngster will visit Liverpool two or three times a year in the future ahead of a possible move to Anfield.

Id like to see Insua come in on the left wing first because he's not quite good enough at defending but is skillfull and runs at people. Like to see Anderson come in aswell. Its to early for Nemeth and Pacheco to come into the first team, wouldent expect to see either for 18-24 months

The next local youngster who they have real high hopes for is Steven Irwin. He has been training with the 1st team squad recently. HE is only 16 so will still be a couple of years before he is getting anywhere near the bench

Its one thing having an attacking fullback, its another having a inexperienced attacking fullback. Once he learns to defend properly then he should become the LB but i reckon he'd benefit from playing on the wing a bit where he wont have as much defensive responsibility.

I must ask - how will he gain experience of defending at left-back whilst playing at left-midfield?

Insua isn't a great dribbler. He's compotent with the ball at his feet. But the key to his attacking nature is his ability to move high up the pitch unnoticed. Not receive the ball to feet and then take players on. To play him at left-back takes away the best part of his game. Just as it would have with Carlos, or as it would now with Clichy or Evra.

Mackay-Steven looked impressive last week against Arsenal, as did Irwin.

Don't know enough about them to comment any further through really.  Think they're midfielders primarily, but were played as the fullbacks last week.  Probably an idea being fed down by Benitez so our full backs are competent going forward, and our midfielders are competent tracking back.

Although I have only seen him play a couple of 15 minute sub appearances and a 60 min run out yesterday, I definately want to see more of Pacheco. He could be a first teamer in the not too distant future.

It looks to me as if we have signed another 'average' player. I'll hold back my complete opinion until I see the lad play

Im guessing you've never watched him if your saying he isnt a great dribbler and every time ive watched him play it seems to me that he likes to run at people with the ball. He can learn to defend while playing for the reserves, if you put him in at LB now he would get turned inside out and caught high up the pitch like he does quite often for the reserves.

The only real criticism I have of Insua at the moment, is that at times he tries to do too much, particularly when dribbling, but I'm sure he will learn with experience, starting against Barnsley I hope. :D

Im guessing you've never watched him if your saying he isnt a great dribbler and every time ive watched him play it seems to me that he likes to run at people with the ball.

There's a difference between picking up the ball when you've got momentum and receiving the ball from standing and dribbling. He's fast, but doesn't have the burst of acceleration to go from 0-60 that you need from a winger. And yes, I've watched him, which is why I say this. That's not great dribbling. That's the ability to go past players on occasion, but it hardly represents his greatest strength. His greatest strength is his ability to get up and down the flank with pace, running into space. Something which he would not get as a winger.

Quote
He can learn to defend while playing for the reserves,if you put him in at LB now he would get turned inside out and caught high up the pitch like he does quite often for the reserves.

Like he did against Pompey and Fulham? Oh wait.

His greatest weakness isn't get caught high up the pitch. That happens to every attacking fullback - We have players in our team to cover that. We might aswell use these defensive midfielders and defenders for something - His greatest weakness is his complacency on the ball when carrying it out of defence. Too many casual passes when he thinks he can get away with it.

As for getting turned inside out? By who? the plethora of quality wingers in the Premiership, most of whom he's quicker than and the vast majority of whom are absolute nothing players anyways.

Just typical of this club at the moment that we've got a precocious talent in a position where we're weak, and we want to use him elsewhere for 'experience'. Fuck him getting experience in the reserves of playing as leftback, and fuck him getting experience as an out of position left-winger. Leave the nothing players who are off in the summer cover that role.

Now that you mention it I have noticed that, perhaps the complacency comes from the fact that he has never really been tested in the reserves, not that I have seen anyway.

Like he did against Pompey and Fulham?

I never got to see either of these games, how exactly did he perform?

The reason he is not in the first team now is because he wasnt ready when he played against portsmouth nearly a year ago. And what your saying is that he is fast....but not lightening fast, and he can beat a man.... but not every time. Pretty much puts him on a par with the wingers we've got now then doesn't it, which is why id like to see him get a few sub appearances NOW, not play his whole career on the wing. Its all well and good having a Roberto carlos in your team but if his defending isnt up to scratch yet (which it isnt) then its pointless having him marching up the wing, fast but not fast enough to beat a man as you say.
