You get your bag OK mate ?

About 2 mins after I last saw you lot oustide the ground I just lost sight of you all, and all I could think of was not wanting me bags locked in that bar all night, so I marched off up there at record speed.. and cos I then had nowhere to stay I had to take an offer of a taxi & a floor chez Ken, Mivi & Mooro ....3 stars in a 3-star, to whom beers are due next time ...

(thanks also to Shaun who offered to help out too despite his 'hotel' being more 3-legged bed than 3-star luxury! )

Do we still know anyone there ? Mr. Shankly (light) got forgotten at FourFourTwo in all the excitement ...

Woo-hoo... gotta love it when a plan comes together in the last half an hour before the match. Being defensively-biased, MoTMs - the centre-halves - nige and Mivi but heroic performance from everyone. Will try to get some pics up before I go off on holiday tomorrow but if I don't and anyone else has some, please post them here.

PS My apologies once again, Marc/Deano/Lee, for being unable to get you into our hotel past the f*cking Mussolini follower in our hotel.

He made me angry... nobody told him the war was over obviously.

Great game anyway, well played everyone, particulary Pata "the cat" who kept us in it and Nige and Mivi who were a class centre back pairing.

Special mention also to Mooro for his showboating, fantastic stuff! ;D

These things even themselves out. What people have so far failed to mention was me going through the ankles of their striker in the 6-yard box in the first few minutes. :) Can't believe the ref only gave a corner. This same ref was mobbed at the final whistle by protesting home players. :)

Can someone describe the goal to me, and the disallowed one, with names, so I can include it in a report for the official site ?

And cos of the bet, if J-P wasn't involved in the move I'll have to weave him into it somehow. Anyone mind if I describe Tom (surname?) as the number 9 ? He was really ...

team Photos also welcome, not sure mine is good enough.

after THAT walk.
Still not sure why that happened, when 30 seconds after you set off we got in a 12 Euro 10-minute taxi ....
(which admittedly only stopped for us when I made Mooro take his hat off  ;) )

For the goal, Mivi took a free-kick from just inside our own half, I think. Floated into the area. The defender and the keeper went for it. Made a mess of it, the ball falling for J-P who then unselfishly played a short pass to Tom (username Hij), who scored. Something like that?

Of the disallowed - pass by J-P to Tom (right of goal) who put it in from close range. The linesman didn't flag for offside but the ref blew up for it.

I'll check the state of my pictures tonight. If they're not great, might need to have a word with our Italian friends. I remember there being about 4 cameras on the Red side.

For the actual goal, I think it was a long ball over the top, I broke through the middle because their defenders were pretty slow in the centre, one of our midfielders went for the ball on the right with the keeper but their defender knocked it past him into the middle (probably to get it off for a goal kick) but there wasnt enough strength on it, so I tapped it in.

Wasn't a classic by any stretch but was my first football game proper in 4 years so I was pretty happy and I never really scored many goals as a kid, so old fogies or not, I loved it ;D

For the disallowed goal, J-P knocked it in front of me for me to slide it in. I was level with him when he played it, but the ref ruled it out, should have been 2-0!

Mooro's manonball was fantastic. Clattered him lol Everyone singing 'Liverpool, Liverpool Liverpool' at the end had me beaming, was excellent that.

Muscles still hurt now. They had started to recover then all the Torres bouncing at the game fucked them up again.

Rhino pulled of a Babel-esque run down the left to waste some time in the closing stages haha, through the defenders legs and into the corner.

The pub after was wicked, met some great guys, thanks to all those who shared a beer with me  :wave
