Amsterdam

Well, back home in Liverpool. Not much "window" shopping to be done with the little fella in tow! Still, managed to eat some nice madeira cake  ;)
Didn't go back to the Banana bar either!

Took some photo's with a digi camera but it's a case of spot the ants. That bloody trip to the top tier takes it out of you; I have thighs like Roberto Carlos now.

The "in" thing seemed to be to attempt to float paper planes onto the pitch!

Paper planes? Did anyone succeed?

I reckon you didn't really fancy the game.  ;)

I know what you mean Ron. However, regarding the atmosphere, that is a toughie. I suspect a friendly tournament at, for example, Cardiff might give the same sort of impression.

A huge chunk of atmosphere comes from the people who are spectating. If this was a cup final, packed to the rafters I would hope things would be different. Another part of atmosphere (IMHO) comes from the heritage of the venue i.e the "I always wanted to see a match at Wembley" scenario. I wonder if these new places will hold that aura once established.

The ArenA did seem rather poor on the refreshment front. After climbing K2 to get to block 416, I could only see one refreshment bar (did anyone see more?). They seemed to have abandoned the "ArenA card" scam er I mean system in favour of cash by the time I sent my other half to the bar  ;D

I've quickly stuck a couple of pics on http://www.ynwa.com
They aren't too big, but a little patience may be needed!

Despite the terrible stadium and the 3-1 defeat by my worst enemies I had a great time. I only met a few "bootroom people" : I saw Chester and WiSK and I met the TOZZ and his mates, also to give them there tickets. Great guys they were, we had a few pints in the sun on the Rembrandtplein. It was nice to see Fowler back in action also, it seems the ones who said it wasn't such a bad injury were right. I hope meet you all again real soon. The Tozz and I have a date for the Champions League final ! (Wishful thinking)

After reflecting/recovering from my trip to Amsterdam to see the Reds, i was wondering.
Does anybody care if Ajax beat Celtic for the CL qualification?
I mean, who would we like to have in our Group for the 1st phase? Celtic or Ajax?

Lets fucking create an atmosphere instead of complaining about it.
