I know what you mean Ron. However, regarding the atmosphere, that is a toughie. I suspect a friendly tournament at, for example, Cardiff might give the same sort of impression.
A huge chunk of atmosphere comes from the people who are spectating. If this was a cup final, packed to the rafters I would hope things would be different. Another part of atmosphere (IMHO) comes from the heritage of the venue i.e the "I always wanted to see a match at Wembley" scenario. I wonder if these new places will hold that aura once established.
The ArenA did seem rather poor on the refreshment front. After climbing K2 to get to block 416, I could only see one refreshment bar (did anyone see more?). They seemed to have abandoned the "ArenA card" scam er I mean system in favour of cash by the time I sent my other half to the bar
