I'd be very surprised. He'd have to sustain at least a 105 average to even have a chance against Anderson or Van Gerwen. I think this is as well as he can play in a match of this distance (101.85 average) and Anderson and Van Gerwen can play like this without even getting near top gear.
I think the pressure might get to him, but his scoring today would be enough to trouble anyone. He averaged 101 against 91. Against MVG that average would be around 103/105 because he wouldn't have as many chances to miss doubles to take his average down. The better the player you throw against the better it is for your average.
