I've bought it from the UK iTunes

The artwork that comes with it is slightly different to the one shown on the official site

a few things have moved and some things (the eye and hand at the bottom) have completely vanished

where is it? I can;t find it on there at all.

Thanks for the links djibril!

Really like the song. It's miles ahead of the Chemical Brothers remix, which was decent in itself.

It's strange at first, but after a few listens it's great stuff. It's not instant Oasis, but class. Really looking forward to this album now, if The Shock of the Lightning impresses at 7.45am then I reckon this could finally be a genuinely class Oasis album for the first time in a decade!

He was hilarious this morning.

I loved the bit with that lass who he couldn't see talking, especially when he sounded like he genuinely believed she was in his head.

"Noel, you shouldn't have let the others write songs for the album, now you won't get as much money..."

Loved his news aswell "Russia and America aren't happy with each other, we've won nothing and the Olympics and we won't win nothing, and the credit crunch is not a cereal, and Oasis have got a new single out and it's class"...

Cant believe 10 years ago people were wondering who was the most talented Damon or Noel/ Blur or Oasis!!

10 Years later one of them has gone on to further his musical horizons, experimenting trying different things producing really interesting excellent music and the other has gone on producing the same old drudge time after time.

10 Years later one of them has gone on to further his musical horizons, experimenting trying different things producing really interesting excellent music and the other has gone on producing the same old drudge time after time.

Or alternatively, one of them is still an integral part of a phenominally popular band, who, arguably unlike Blur, weren't a flash in the pan. Whereas the other has disappeared so far up his own backside that he's vanished off the radar.

It all depends on your perspective.

Plus, what relevance does this 13 year-old Blur vs Oasis argument really have in the context of this thread? IF there was a "Britop war" then Blur lost. Get over it, everyone else has...

Its not about a britpop war, its about how Noel Gallacher hoodwinked a generation in to believing he had talent, people are such oasis fanboys out of loyalty from their teens, they cant see that the music they produce nowadays is very very average.

Damon Albarn is a much more respected artist, and Blur were hardly a flash in the pan, they were releasing albums before oasis and didnt dissband because of waning popularity, quite the opposite.

I was an oasis fan ahead of blur in the early 90's, then i grew up.

I wonder how many songs they will play from any album after 'be here now' at their upcoming gigs? Not many I wouldnt have thought

Er, based on their rehearsal gig setlist the other night

Rock 'n' Roll Star
Lyla
The Shock of the Lightning

Cigarettes and Alcohol
The Meaning of Soul
To Be Where There's Life
Waiting For The Rapture

The Masterplan
Songbird
Slide Away
Morning Glory
Ain't Got Nothing
The Importance of Being Idle
I'm Outta Time

Wonderwall
My Big Mouth
Supersonic

Don't Look Back In Anger (acoustic)
Falling Down
Champagne Supernova
I Am The Walrus

....................I'd make that 10 out of 21 then, nearly 50%.  Sort of defeats that argument.

EDIT - The Masterplan album was actually after Be Here Now so make that 12/21.

Personally I can't stand the bloke. I never liked any of blurs albums, great singles but really dull albums. From what I've heard of what he's done since, for the most part I find it pretentious shit. But then isn't that the beauty of music and art in general? One mans shit is another mans gold.

I've always loved oasis. They are what they are, and don't pretend to be anything else. It's how it's always been. It's difficult for me to find anything in their back catalogue that I don't like.

erm, I'd agree that Standing on the Shoulders and Heathen Chemistry were average. SOTSOG was an experiment that generally failed (apart from Gas Panic which is great, and a few other decent tracks like Sunday Morning Call, Go Let It Out and Where Did It All Go Wrong), but made at a crossroads in the band. Heathen Chemistry was him trying to write Morning Glory again and failing (although Stop Crying Your Heart Out and The Hindu Times are still good tunes I say). Both would be classed as good, 3 or maybe 4 star albums if they were by a band who hadn't had such a great back catalogue. Don't Believe The Truth was a good record though, and the two songs from this one are tops! And he writes good songs, therefore he has talent in my opinion. This doesn't make me a "fanboy" as I'm just a tad too young for the "golden years", just a fan. And if it's not your cup of tea then fair does I suppose!

Spot on

If any other band had made SOTSOG or HC they would have been classed as successes. Oasis were too good too soon.

Personally I love HC. One of my favs. Sotsog could have been so much better if they substituted some of the B-sides for some of the albums tracks, and dispite what others say I actually quite like little james. It is what it is - someones first attempt at writing a song. But as you say it was a crossroads. Half the band left during/just after recording.
