I'll raise you that header against Anderlect.  For such a little fella to rise that far off the ground so far out in the 18 yard area, and put it away.  Phenominal!
Not mentioned much but his header against Pompey away in the league was also classy

Spoke to Luis last night. He said that he and his wife came up with the idea of the letter, after he said he was feeling upset that he hadn't been able to thank the fans or say goodbye. She then helped him decide what to put.

He's really excited about being back at Anfield (he'd been training there just before) and can't wait to walk down the tunnel (and touch the Anfield sign "with two hands") and run out onto the pitch. He said that, ever since the draw was made, he's been really dreading getting injured and not being able to play, but to date is fine. He reckons he'll start on the bench but really hopes he can play a bit, even if it's only for a few minutes. You could tell from his voice and face, he was genuinely excited about being back. Hope he gets the chance!

He's looking forward to hearing his song again too, so come on people, let's make it a good one for him.  :wave

I reckon if were 3-4 goals up  :P with 5 mins to go and he is still on the bench, his song should be sang.

Of course!
He played us all the way to the CL final almost by himself.

Leverkusen (h) one goal
Leverkusen (a) two goals
Juventus (h) one fantastic goal
Chelsea (h) the most important goal in the knockout stages (except the final of course).

He always did his best, his loyalty was immense.

We should sing his song before, during and after the game.

I know I will :)

Can I just say to all of you going to the game tonight that you are jammy, jammy buggers. If there's one match this year I'd kill to be at it's Luis' homecoming, just to sing his song.

He's 5ft 7, he's football heaven...

Did they sing his song after the game? ESPN are a bunch c*nts and didn't show anything after the game except highlights.

Should they do the same for Wigan and Aston Villa matches too?

I was gutted for him last night. He didn't come on until there was only about 5 minutes left, and by that time the crowd were quite deflated. Even though he got a decent reception, his homecoming took second place to the fact that we were losing 1-0.

Ironically, he got a much bigger cheer, and his song sung much louder, when he came out to warm up earlier in the game.
I think we'd have won the league if we'd sold Keane to Man United.

Quality from the lad, delighted he got a good reception last night. As frustrating as he was at times they goals he scored outweighed any of that especially the goal against the Chelsea in champs lge, would have the lad back no probs. All the best Luis & thanks. YNWA

Frustrated people, and he was, but loved him the entire time he was here. Was a player who thrived on big-games, did a LOT to help us get to Istanbul, and always remember his FA Cup semi-goal and Everton at Anfield goals too. Loved the lad, left with dignity.

Sarcastic Net Pest and Sanctimonious Arse.
