It looks like the concourse comes into the gaps at the side of the Kop, wonder if this is a permanent thing, still cant fathom what they can do with the roof support in order to fill those gaps

That's EXACTLY what I'm wondering.  Those Wembley-like roof supports would surely have to be removed for the corners to be filled in.

There's something about the inside that I just don't like.  I can't quite put my finger on it.  I was also of the impression from those who've seen more pics that there was a gap in the roof at the away end which could be filled in to increase capacity.  Don't really think there's enough space in the corners for another 15-18,000 seats.

I like it but I'll reserve complete judgement until I've seen more pics of the rest of it.

I guess the difficulty with these images is that they have had to rub out some of it to make it 60,000 and not the 78000 that it will end up at.

I think the images are poor, but fully expect better ones in time to come.

Looks like people could fall off the edges of the Kop!!

Obviously the pictures (computer images) don't do it justice but, first impressions, I hate it.

I love it.

Even the boxes dont bother me, to be honest. People need to get real about that-this day and age such facilities are vital to make the thing financially viable.

Should just be proud that the club has actually designed a brand new stadium with the traditions of the club in mind-its ultra modern, but it also has a distinct character of its own. Imagine the Kop with almost 50% more people in it than now-fucking hell.

Compare it to the Emirates, or the Theatre of shite. Wheres the North Bank or the Stretford End?-nowhere. Just soulless generic bowls, like 99% of stadia nowadays. Trust me, our New Ground will become the Cathedral of football....

The double boxes, the wide open corners, the three tiers.

I really dislike it.

I wouldn't say it's a real dislike, but I think it looks a bit disjointed with the three tiers. But everyone seems to be really happy with it so I don't know what the hell's wrong with me :-\

I can't believe how many people are actually complaining about the quality of the 'images'. I think it pales in significance when compared to viewing the actual design, which I think looks amazing.
Liverpool showed that miracles exist. They proved that football is the most beautiful sport of them all. After this game, my English team is going to be Liverpool. I came across some of their fans beforehand and they told me they were going to win, but that they would be made to suffer. It's just the way it happened

Couldn't agree more, we've retained and enlarged the kop, what more could you ask for.

I think the new design is awesome, the best ground in the country without a doubt, imagine how pissed off our rivals will be when they this work of art taking shape.

Well done to the yanks for making it all possible.

Only flay I think is having the roof of the kop semi-glass. Needs to be completely covered, so it remains dark and intimidating.

I'm guessing the location of the glass roof on the south facing stand is to get sunlight to the pitch.

The design is stunning. Theres not much detail in the pics of the interior, but i'm sure them gaps won't be as "obvious" in the final design. Kop is looking amazing too.

Still excited wondering what the other images will be like. The goal stand opposite the kop will be interesting, judging the height and capacity of the other 3 stands it'll be quite small in comparison.

Don't know if everyone's read the official site description:

"The unique asymmetrical design, with a huge 18,000 seat single-tier Kop at its heart, has been developed as part of the overall regeneration of Stanley Park. The West side is concave in form effectively embracing the park and providing changing facilities for those young amateur players and their parents who use the existing pitches which will be retained within the park.

The North and East facades take a convex form respectively overlooking Priory Road and Utting Avenue across gardens which will be developed in the tradition of Stanley Park. The South facade will be of completely different form, taking on a more formal appearance appropriate to its civic function at the northern edge to the new Anfield Plaza development which will replace the current ground.

The stadium will have a stone work base on the North, West and East sides with mainly glass facades above. The South side will be clad in metal and overlook the Plaza. One striking feature will see the South East and South West corners of the stadium visually open, providing views from the park deep into its heart."

So it doesn't sound like those corners will be filled in at all. It will certainly be an amazing building just to  look at  -  most stadiums, like the current Anfield,  are a bit meaningless outside of a matchday, but this one will fascinating to look at at any time.

The renderings are rubbish, but much like the Indianapolis Colts ones for the Lucas Oil stadium in terms of quality, so maybe it's just the stage we're at in the process. Presumably the Dallas Cowboys images were much the same at an earlier stage.

For me, if they can demonstrate how the expansion's going to work, and provide animation, then we'll get a proper feel for the place.

It's nice and tight to the pitch though, and tall and steep enough to make sure the place buzzes. Pretty pleased with that.

I'm not sure that the quote you bolded means the corners won't be filled in Spencer...

Quote

What does 'deep into its heart' mean? into the pitch? If the stadium has to expand 18,000, then that's a lot of seats (just under a quarter of total capacity). Anny Road end and corners, or will there be enough room below the roof...???

Still, nice and tight to the pitch so that's a great start. We need better images though.

the superb view into the stadium, from outside, is eye catching..........but I do not like open corners at all in a ground.

open corners remind me of the old cold stamford bridge, with the wind and rain howling in from the open corners.

Historic Nights & Amazing Occasions will be created for all of us older fans and for the NEXT GENERATION who could and will only be able to dream of being at the Old Anfield on any night ........

So my advice would be......get to as many games as possible for all who live too far away and don't earn enough to go down as much as we'd like.....

And anyone with kids, take them as much as you can so they will remember ! Only 4 years left, i think another Champions League trophy in the last year before we move would see us leave fittingly !
"If you can't support us when we lose or draw , don't support us when we win" - Bill Shankly.......the best quote the great man ever said.

They are digging a 8 metre hole in the ground  :o

Quote
To avoid controversy Liverpool will dig an eight metre hollow into the park near Arkles Lane and Priory Road, so the height of the stadium does not cause controversy or breach current planning laws.

That means the pitch and many of the seats on its front rows will be below ground level.
