Further info - these new York firefighters have raised cash in the past to enable kids from liverpool to fly to the USA for hospital treatment they couldn't get here.

The LFC New York Supporters Club has been a significant source of funds for the Hillsborough Justice Campaign.

Come on, people !!!!

The Hillsborough Justice Campaign is glad to support the fundraising auction for the Engine 22 Firefighters and will be donating the money raised, £200, by the raotl .v. toffeeweb football match for the Justice Campaign.
The Justice Campaign will also be donating a limited edition photo print of Ian Rush's 1st goal at the 1989 Cup Final as a token of thanks for the support NYC LFC SC has shown us over the years.

yup, I'll do that.

I'll see if I can track down someone with a colour printer, or some newspapers to decorate the bucket with, so the folk know what I'm rattling for ;D

See if I can do round the pubs before, then at the ground et around the ground before kick off, and finish off with one in the Albert.  ;) ;) ;)

Bit of pritt stick never hurt anyone.....

I aint made a volte-face though, my preference was the money to go to the HJC, I've read up on what this specific campaign is about now.

Of course it's a good cause though, most definetly.
And I agree that money pouring in from all angles shows an uprising in solidarity, I hope that it the money isn't falsely placed in the same cloud as "we all support any action the US take" though. (cynical to the last ;)  )

But yeah, can't support every good cause, we all have our favourites, and with the events being recent it gives us hope of raising more coffers.

I have a team photo signed by all the players before the first LFC vs Newcastle 4-3 on April 3rd 1996, plus Beardo who came in to the Carslberg suite before the game to say hello to Digger, etc.

It means a lot to me, but hey, I've got my memories of the day. Would it help if it comes with the Hospitality pack, complete with un-torn ticket for the game for the match (didn't need to go through the turnstile to get in, so the ticket is unblemished)?

I could throw in a picture of me taking a pen at half time, but I don't want to lower its value...

Neil spoke to Bob earlier and apparently they managed to raise around £6,000.  No doubt Bob will confirm this and give an exact figure when he gets back.

Still, anything even approaching that amount is a fantastic effort :) :) :)

Well done to all concerned, whether organising, donating or bidding.  Our thoughts go out to the NYC LSC Reds and the Engine 22 Firefighters.

Will post a full report in a couple of days when I get the paperwork back from the NYers, who collected all the cash directly ... but from memory, the total is certainly around the £7000 mark, maybe higher yet.

Thanks to everyone who donated stuff : we had a lot of superb items, and it was almost too much to auction off on the day. After 2 hours of auction, we called it a day as most people were spent out and time was pressing on .... the items held back will either be made available in an online auction soon, or held over to the next Albert auction for the HJC, or a mixture of both, to be decided by the donors.

And many thanks to those who bought items on the day. A magnificent result. The sum total is particularly impressive is in no small part due to a very substantial bid for one item from Phil Hammond on behalf of the HFSG. There were also significant cheque donations from the HJC and author Alan Edge.

As one of those present in the Albert on Saturday I'd just like to say a massive thank you to Bob and John Mac for all the hard work they put in.
These things do not organise themselves and thanks to their hard work an excellent sum has been raised for a very deserving cause.
Well done Bob and John...the good name of the Liverpool supporter has been further enhanced by your efforts.
Thank you.
Finally our thoughts must also be with the families of those lost from Engine 22.

The Hillsborough Justice Campaign was glad to be part of the fund raising efforts for the Engine 22 victims.
The HJC made a direct donation to the Engine 22 fund of £200 being money raised on our behalf (by the toffeeweb .v. raotl football match).
We also donated a signed limited edition print of Ian Rush's first goal in the 1989 Cup Final for hanging in the Kinsale Bar, Manhattan. The print was given as a gesture of thanks and friendship from the Justice Campaign to the New York Reds.
Each travelling Red was also presented with a 2nd edition GH car sticker as a (poignant) memento of their trip.
It was a sheer pleasure for us to take part in the occasion, particularly putting faces to names we only know through forum posting and donated cheques.(especially Alison (as elegant as she is eloquent! now get that translation finished)
