... most of the others on the list in that area wasn't showing the football.

Can you remember any of the names of the pubs that weren't showing the football? Because if a pub's not showing Man Cirty v Liverpool when it's the only game on at 5.30 on a Saturday, it shouldn't really be on this list.

Thanks for the info already though. I've updated the North London bit.

Watford area?
« Reply #1443 on: December 19, 2015, 10:26:09 AM »
Looked for a pub friendly thread but couldn't find one for Watford.

I'm staying at Bricket Wood not far from Watford from Sunday through Tuesday.  Have looked and found the The Black Boy pub as a potential alehouse to watch the game if the wife doesn't chuck a strop.  Anyone know what the pub is like etc.  Don't think it'll be full of Watford wide boys given its location.

Anyone confirm if that boozer is still charging people to go in and watch the match?

Hi Claire, sorry for the slow response, been a crazy busy Christmas. If it is Roxy that you are talking about then no they don't seem to be now. They are showing all games in 3pms, but they do tend to piss people off from time to time. LFC London is still promoting it as its main venue but there are quite a few people going to Husky's Bites Cafe too. Cathy and a few of the other ex-Ruse guys are trying really hard with Husky's to get it going.
Let's also never forget the 39!

Tonyh [6 Nov 2015]: Have been away or working for the last couple of games but going to link up on Sunday with some of my old Red friends/customers at Husky Bites Cafe, 29 Amelia Street, SE17 3PY, they tell me it is really good and they are trying hard. Definitely showing the Palace game on Sunday.

There's a sports bar in Victoria Station, probably not the cheapest but plenty of screens.

The Temple Brew House shows the games. I watched the West Ham match in there and there were more Reds than West Ham fans. Nice place.

Anyone know if the Augsburg game is being shown in the Blue Eyed Maid (near Borough) tomorrow evening?
Thanks.

In that there London today and tomorrow.

Which pubs will show our game? I guess most would show Spurs... any pubs with two channel capability? I'm in the centre around Euston. Cheers!

I don't know about the two screens thing, but around Euston you've got these lot (check their websites?):

Euston/King's Cross
Mabel's Tavern - Shepherd Neame
9 Mabledon Place, WC1H 9AZ
Just a few minutes' walk from Euston, Kings Cross and the Bloomsbury Theatre.
www.mabelstavern.co.uk
020 7387 7739
[24 Apr 2014]: Mabel's Tavern on Mabledon Place is good for football and usually easier to get served in [than The Euston Flyer]

Euston
The Royal George
8 to 14 Eversholt Street, NW1 1DG
In the road on the east side of Euston Station, near the entrance, turn left out of the station
www.taylor-walker.co.uk/pub/royal-george-euston/c1025
www.facebook.com/RoyalGeorgeNW1
020 7387 2431
[3 Jan 2007]: always shows the LFC Sky games in preference to whoever else is on, including all the London Teams. (No dodgy Mideast stations though). I think the Manager is a Red !! Good screens in all bars and always some real ale, sausage and mash or sausage butties recommended.
[25 Apr 2007]: Landlord is a red and you get a few reds in there but also a few nob eads. Not the best place but 4 screens and can be a good atmosphere
[25 Apr 2007]: I've been there couple of times and always a couple other of reds watching (other people usually just 'pub folk'). Was there in the FA Cup final and the athmosphere was great!
[1 May 2007]: A good venue. Manager is a Red, and at least three screens in two large bars.
[2 May 2007]: Huge atmosphere, great night.
[21 May 2007]: 3 or 4 screens, the manager is a red !! Real ales etc. Good atmosphere.
[24 May 2007]: was crap: No beer glasses, hopeless service, not enough staff on, four staff trying to look after three bars and a full house.
[5 Apr 2008]: The best LFC pub in London  ;D
[24 Apr 2014]: Watched 1st half of Arsenal home game there this season, before having to jump a train back to Liverpool for 2nd half. Filled with Reds, but not too packed. Best moment was about 5 mins before half-time when an Arsenal fan, in work overalls etc, nipped in to check out the score. His face was a fucking picture. He left quickly in disgust.

Euston
The Bree Louise
69 Cobourg Street, NW1 2HH
www.breelouise.pub
020 7681 4930
[1 May 2012]: Around St Pancras I'd go to the Bree Louise for a pre-cup final drink. It's very close to Euston station, so just a couple of minutes walk from St Pancras. It's a proper pub, not the usual central London tourist trap. As a bonus they usually have dead fit East European barmaids

Euston
The Euston Flyer
83-87 Euston Road, NW1 2RA
Between Euston & Kings Cross
www.eustonflyer.co.uk
020 7383 0856
eustonflyer@fullers.co.uk
[2 Aug 2012]: The Euston Flyer is also showing it
[24 Apr 2014]: Euston Flyer definitely still shows the football. We watched the Six Nations there earlier in the year and they booted us off the big Projector to put a Chelsea game on.
[24 Apr 2014]: I was in the Euston Flyer for the Sunderland game. They had it on a TV and a projector. Was fairly busy with a few Reds, but if you're looking for atmosphere then you should go to Ruse or F3K.
[24 Apr 2014]: Euston Flyer for sure, although it'll be busy.
[5 Nov 2015]: That's where we're heading to in 10 minutes.

Euston
The Doric Arch (formerly Head of Steam)
1 Eversholt Street, Euston Square, NW1 1DN
Just outside Euston Station
www.doric-arch.co.uk
020 7383 3359
doricarch@fullers.co.uk
[24 Apr 2014]: Head of Steam in the station itself is nearest to the platforms and has Sky. Watched the Arsenal FA Cup game in there as also had a train to get straight after. It was alright, fairly quiet, but perfectly alright and was majority Liverpool fans then.

Euston
The Rocket
120 Euston Road, NW1 2AL
www.therocketeustonroad.co.uk
020 7388 0021
[24 Apr 2014]: I'm going to the Rocket which is near Euston station but, as others have mentioned, the Euston Flyer is meant to be good as well. Other side of the road but not far.
[5 May 2014]: The Rocket was crap btw, dodgy sound system and badly connected TV's, losing to Chelsea didn't fucking help neither.

Marylebone
The Allsop Arms
137-143 Gloucester Place, NW1 5AL
www.allsoparms-marylebone.co.uk
020 7723 5864
hello@allsoparms-marylebone.co.uk
[14 Nov 2008]: Alright for Liverpool games (alright though rather than amazing).

Marylebone
Sports Bar & Grill Marylebone
Melcombe Place, NW1 6JJ
www.sportsbarandgrill.co.uk/locations/marylebone
020 7723 8890
sportsbarandgrillmarylebone@gmail.com
[26 Jan 2011]: Rating: 10/10; Shows Liverpool Games: Yes; Number Of Screens: 16; Atmosphere: Vibrant; Other Notes: 2 floors, large restaurant, 3 bars, 16 55" plasma screens & 5 American pool tables

Apart from them, it depends if you want to travel a bit. There are links to all the areas of London in the OP.

I haven't been to any of them but I made an attempt to make people's lives easier by adding a list of the 'best' pubs to watch us around London here: The top 14 pubs to watch Liverpool in London.

If I was in Euston, I think I'd get on the tube and go here:

Marylebone/Oxford Street
The Spread Eagle
8 Woodstock Street, Marylebone, W1C 2AD
Google map
www.taylor-walker.co.uk/pub/spread-eagle-marylebone/c3113
www.facebook.com/spreadeaglepublondon
020 7629 4695
[26 Jan 2011]: Rating: 10/10; Landlord Name: Paul; Landlord Liverpool Fan: Yes; Shows Liverpool Games: Yes; Shows 3pm Saturday Games: No; Prioritises Liverpool Games: Yes; Number Of Screens: 3; Atmosphere: Great; Other Notes: Paul is a Scouser and his staff have been briefed to show all Liverpool Games. A very good LFC fanbase use this pub.
[18 Mar 2014]: Tbf Ive been to Ruse but the Spread Eagle off Oxford street I think is just as good. Bit less people but equally good atmosphere, food isnt bad either
[11 Apr 2014]: Never been to Ruse but the Spread Eagle was good when I went in there! Near Bond street if I can remember rightly
[11 Apr 2014]: Got nabbed by the ballsack the last time I tried going to this place. I commuted an hour and a half to check this place out for the Cardiff game only to find that they dont have Setanta only SkySports :butt. Shouldn't be a problem this time though I'll be there..!! ;D
[4 Nov 2014]: I'll be in the Spread Eagle tonight, off Oxford Street. Good in there.
[4 Nov 2014]: Love that place. Met some good Reds in there.
[26 Feb 2015]: Spread Eagle off Oxford Street is go for the game. Cracking place but £4.25 a pint!

https://www.facebook.com/spreadeaglepublondon/photos/a.693530320680477.1073741825.475972779102900/1211005398932964/?type=3

Good point about which pub will show which game, as both games kick off same time and both are on BT Sport. So id phone ahead and find out.

Thursday 17 March: Manchester United v Liverpool - 7.30pm (BT Sport Europe)

Thursday 17 March: Tottenham Hotspur v Borussia Dortmund - 7.30pm (BT Sport 1)

Made me nervous now, as I'm in the Caribbean, but I would hope our tie comes marginally on top of Tottenhams tie and ours will be shown 😊

Id say the Euston Flyer and Mabel's tavern have the most space/screens/ok pub ratio in that area so they're likely to have both games on. You might have to summon the old times and ring up the pub though just to check.

Cheers, was in the Flyer last week and had to leg it on 88mins to get my train!

I think the Green Man on Great Portland St can show different channels on different screens.

Its all academic now anyway, it turns out I'll be back home in Nottingham for kick off. :)

Just a quick heads up, Huskys has become the definite south London favourite for ex-Ruseites and LFC London (semi officially). They have been trying really hard recently and deserve the support.

Its Amelia Street, SE17 3PY, just off the Walworth Road, 6/7 minutes walk from Elephant & Castle tube, or about 3 minutes from Kennington tube station. Will be showing the Stoke game today and Dortmund on Thursday. They are Husky Bites Café on twitter.

Cheers. I used to go to another place round the Kennington area - The White Bear (I think it was called). Not been for a while but they used to show the 3pm's. Decent area for watching the reds. I'm just a bit further down the road near Brixton.

The Alexandra in central Wimbledon.

Not the cheapest area to visit but the Landlord Mick is a Red, so you'll be certain of a warm welcome and the games are always shown live.

Just a quick heads up, Huskys has become the definite south London favourite for ex-Ruseites and LFC London (semi officially). They have been trying really hard recently and deserve the support.

Took a girl on a second date around Wimbledon a few months back on a day the Reds were on (poor timing). She's not big into football but knew I am so after Wagamamas ( :-\ ) I suggested there as I'd had a scout and not seen any TVs, didn't want it to turn into us watching the football and her being put off.

We got our drinks, sat down and a minute later the big screen dropped for the Newcastle game. She insisted we stay, I promised I hadn't planned it, we lost 2-0 and there wasn't a third meeting.

Still, really good pub actually.
If I were a linesman, I would execute defenders who applauded my offsides.

Mate, if I was in central London and didn't fancy getting over to Husky Bites in SE London (see TonyH's very recent post above) I would be at the Spread Eagle off Oxford street like a shot.

I've never been there but the RAWK comments are telling and they made themselves clear the other day when they talked about our game being the big one despite 2 nights of Champions League football happening first.

My post about that is a few posts back too. I'm on tippytappytalk otherwise I'd be more helpful.

Probably not cheap though. It's basically Mayfair I think. And I'm sure you're familiar with Monopoly.

Personally, I'd enjoy the walk there. I'd just head there blindly after work and stop off in some other random boozer on the way trying to pass the time till kick-off.

Stoke Newington, N16
The Auld Shillelagh

[21 May 2009]: Ive been in the Old Shilelleigh a few times for games, it's full of Reds.
[2 Feb 2012]: Where I live in Stoke Newington, the local boozer is full of people from all over the place but there's a group who I end up watching the matches with who are Liverpool fans. It's a real melting pot of cultures though and there's some good banter that goes on.
[25 Feb 2012]: I fucking love a pint of Guinness with the match in the old shillelagh.
[26 Feb 2015]: Not sure if it's been mentioned on here before but the Auld Shillelagh in Stoke Newington is a great Liverpool friendly Irish pub. Always shows the 3pm kick offs on a Saturday. Guinness is fucking tasty as well and only £3.80 - damn steal :)
[6 Nov 2015]: If you're ever in north London give the Shilelagh in Stoke newington a visit. Good little gang of exiled scousers in there for most games. And it's a proper decent old pub.

Anybody going here for the Dortmund Game tomorrow? I'm torn between this, travelling to Husky's or going home for my usual stream...

It's a small but good pub if you do decide to go. Watching it at home myself probably.

you might struggle in Soho but there used to be a pub on long Acre in Covent Graden that showed the footy, so you might try there. Good luck.

There is a thread on the first page that is a guide to watching Liverpool around the world.

http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=120287.0

I see there is no Italy. If you find somewhere, add it to this thread. I wonder if there is an Italy branch to the supporters club?

Edit: there is. Contact them. http://www.liverpoolitalia.it/

Or check this out: http://www.highlanderome.com/en/page/67/Live_Sports they have the game on. They seem to have every game on. Like I said, if it is good, add it to the around the world thread.
