Benitez has said that Anderson, Guthrie and Peltier will be included in the squad.
Since Lindfield, Hammill, Darby and Roque were were recently registered in the squad with UEFA, we can guess that they'll be involved too.
That plus those who are fit and were involved in 25/05/05 make a 16-man squad by my reckoning.
So unless Rafa's registered a youngster without intending to take him to Istanbul (doesn't make sense), or he plans to leave someone who played in Istanbul at home (would be cruel since the game counts for nothing), that leaves just 1 space.
Lindfield is the only striker in the 16, so strikers are needed.
Crouch was fully rested yesterday, which suggests that he will play, and I reckon the game should also be used to give Robbie some action.
That means Paletta, Agger, Pennant, Bellamy and Kuyt all miss out.
Some would argue that Paletta should be used, but that would be at the expense of another youngster, a player who played in Istanbul, Robbie (who needs games as much as Paletta), or Crouch (who was rested yesterday and will therefore be going).
Anyway I've no idea how to pick a possible team.
Darby can play anywhere across the back 4, but is surely unlikely to start?
Peltier has only featured at right-back, but actually favours centre-mid I believe.
Roque's a natural centre-back, but played full-back for the youth team in last year's FA youth cup, and Rafa seems to prefer to use youngsters in wide positions where they are perhaps under less pressure.
Anyway, I hope to see as many youngsters playing for as long as possible.
