Probably worth getting compatible refills rather than manufacturer originals. I presume the print isn't quite as good, but you get a hefty saving. Can't recommend anyone online (just not tried), but you probably have a local place (check yellow pages?)

"All the lads have been talking about is walking out in front of the Kop, with 40,000 singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone'," Collins told BBC Radio Solent. "All the money in the world couldn't buy that feeling," he added.

Anyone know where to get cheap USB memory sticks, snapped my 4gb by being a dosy twat but luckily rescued the stuff off it

Looking for bigger than 4gb too

Looked on ebay and they are cheap but will be fake and made from cheap components that break in a few months. Just like a memory card I got off there

I'm looking to buy a surround sound system for my media pc, ps3, and plasma... however,

all the bloody home cinema packages contain dvd players along with the speaker.  Do you know if they sell the amp and speakers together in a package i.e in the same style, or will i need to buy 'never to be used doovde player'?

Actually..is the dvd player act as the amp also??

Wrong thread... but...

Lots of questions... Basically, most Surround Packages will come with the customary DVD Player /Amp all included... But you can opt for 'Seperates'. Such as a set of 5 Speakers and Sub eg B&W's M-1s are a nice set. Then if you need an Amp there are lots to choose from and so with CD Players...
It ALL depends on one thing... BUDGET and you specific requirements.

Got this for 350 on cheap electricals, just google it.

It's my first surround sound system but I'm really happy with it, tiny speakers so easily hidden but the sub is huge. No DVD player either! You can get HD sound from the ps3 through Linear PCM, blu-rays sound great, particularly the action movies. 300/Beowulf/Apocalypto sound awesome and games sound much better too! Good for the price I reckon.

Elonex 37" LCD - Analogue tuner only - 289.95 delivered, or 299 in-store.

This big Elonex set's received decent feedback from buyers for picture and build quality. It doesn't have a freeview tuner built in, but if you've already got Virgin or Sky TV this won't be an issue.

Connections-wise, there's a decent line-up of 2 HDMI, 2 SCART, 1 Component, 1 VGA & 1 S-Video inputs, which should be enough for most. On the downside, the remote control isn't as straightforward as it could be. It's cheapest at ebuyer for 289.95 inc delivery, or ASDA has it in-store & online for 299.

Size: 37" widescreen
HD level/resolution: HD-ready, up to 1080i (interlaced)
Inputs: 2 SCART, 2 HDMI, 1 VGA, Component, 1 S-Video
Warranty: 1 year

Vistron 32" LCD w/Freeview 269.99 delivered.

This silver Vistron from ebuyer looks quite smart, and the limited user feedback available is quite positive. It does however leave a little to be desired in the connections department, with just 1 HDMI socket and 1 SCART socket, amongst a few others.

If you don't mind refurbished, ex-demo, or open box models, ebuyer also has a variety of sets around the 250 mark.

Size: 32" widescreen
HD level/resolution: HD-ready, up to 1080i (interlaced)
Inputs: 1 SCART, 1 HDMI, 1 VGA, Composite, S-Video
Warranty: 1 year

LG 32LG3000 32" LCD w/Freeview 329.99 in-store.

This LG set from HiFi discounter Richer Sounds offers slightly better build quality than those above, and is more straighforward to use, with a simple, user-friendly remote control. It offers 3 HDMI inputs, 2 SCART, 1 VGA, Component and Composite inputs.

There's also a similar Samsung model for 335 at Richer Sounds, but stock of this is far more difficult to come by.

Size:32" widescreen
HD level/resolution: HD-Ready 1080i, 720p, 1366x768
Inputs: 2 SCART, 3 HDMI, 1 VGA, Component, Composite
Warranty: 1 year, at home.

Toshiba 32XV555DB 32" 1080p FULL HD LCD w/freeview 349.99 in-store.

If only full HD (1080p) will do, Richer Sounds also has limited stock (do phone ahead) of this 32" Toshiba, which offers the best picture quality in this line-up. It also offers wide connectivity, with 3 HDMI inputs, 2 SCARTS, 1 PC input, 1 component & 1 composite.

Reviews from both users and magazines are very positive, making this a great deal if you can find one at this price.

Size:32" widescreen
HD level/resolution: Full HD 1080p, 1920x1080
Inputs: 2 SCART, 3 HDMI, 1 VGA, Component, Composite, S-video
Warranty: 1 year

Been using this site for ages now www.mx2.co.uk. Buy compatible cartridges for my Canon printer for 4.69 each with free delivery (at least 12 each for genuine). They come with a chip fitted and I've never had a problem.

Another cracker from the Apple refurb store: "last year's" MacBook, was 1149, now 849. That's 50 cheaper than the "new" model, which has a slower processor and smaller hard drive. I'm getting one!

Not worth it in my opinion. You're better off getting a DVD player with a usb slot. I have a philips dvd player with a USB slot and it's been doing the trick for 2 years now. Much more better value for money.

ATM I'm using mplayer on a homebrew wii to watch things downloaded from the iplayer - it seems to be struggling with high bitrate mp4s, probably with the h264 codec.  Any suggestions for a cheap box that will play them without stuttering?
