well for me the undisputed greatest crisps of all time have to be salt and vinegar nobby's crisps. their promo day was the 2005 league cup final when we lost to chelsea. got loads of bags. they used walkers factories to make the crisps though so walkers put them out of business basically by saying you can't use them anymore. nowadays its all these natural ones that i like like kettle chips or another "hand cooked" one

I remember all those freebie bags of Nobbys in 05 (the girls handing them out weren't too bad either!)

But without doubt my favourite crisps are Brannigans, roast beef and mustard.

Wish I could still find these in the supermarkets.

Sellers on ebay have them, but I'm not yet at a point in my life where I buy food from ebay.

Tyrrells do good crisps, recently I had their 'Sausage and Mustard' and their 'Sea Salt and Black Pepper' flavour crisps and they were both really nice. Even their 'Honey, Roast Ham and Cranberry' flavour ones were nice.

Beware if your on a diet though (probably wouldn't be eating crisps if you were), as they are almost 30g fat per bag and almost 500 cals +

Kettle used to do a Mango Chilli flavour ages ago, but they don't do it anymore. They were lovely.

I do hate though how Tyrrells, Kettle, Sensations and supermarket own brands produce those big bags. They are too much to resist, as I have just eaten 2/3'rds of their 'Smoked Monterry Chilli and Goats Cheese' crisp bag. Bastards.

New year raises the eternal question: is it possible to live a life without crisps?

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2013/jan/13/stewart-lee-crisps-coren-observer?INTCMP=SRCH

Quote
As a child, every school holiday I would be left in the hot car outside a succession of Devon pubs with only a pint of Courage Best for company, while my father went inside to eat crisps. I associate crisps with freedom, maturity and independence. But, I wonder, would it be possible to live a life without crisps? For the crisps-eating broadsheet newspaper columnist, January is the perfect month to find out.

Indeed it is. I like crisps, but never think to buy them. I could live without them. In fact, can't remember when I last had a bag. Love me some Doritos though. Used to have permanent orange dust under my nails from endless bags of Wotsits. Had a rotation going on in my lunch box, different bag each day. Monster Munch, Quavers, Wotsits, Nik Naks and Skips. The dream team.

I wouldn't survive without crisps, their my only snack food vice as I don't eat chocolate or cakes ,I don't even have breakfast before work as I just eat a packet of crisps in the van on my way to wherever the job is that day (or a sausage roll or similar if I've had a few jars the night before ;))

Agree, Lamb and Mint has no place in crispland. Got a packet of Walkers rotting in the cupboard that one day I'll drunkenly mistake for S&V and gag uncontrollably and curse myself for snacking with the light off.

And agree, Roast Beef and Mustard is allowed, I love Tyrell's Sausage and Mustard as well.

The ones that come straight out of the fryer, no seasoning, just warm cosy crisps. Hmmmmmmmm

The warm seasoned ones are sound and have seasoned taste you'll never experience, but no flavour freshly fried are the bollocks.
