Are we really a creature of habit ?

Every morning I go through the same ritual –

Alarm at 6.50am.
Go bathroom (get ready for work, etc…..).
Go downstairs into front room.
Open blinds and switch on little light near the TV.
Go into kitchen.
Get work bag ready and get some breakfast.
Eat breakfast in front room watching TV and flicking through the teletext – itv page 401 1st and then onto 301 & 331 for national news and the north west news.
Put shoes and coat on at sametime.
Drive car out the garage and travel same way to work.
Park in the same place, etc…………

Unemployment will get you all out of this bollocks. Take it from a waster like me.

Today I woke up around ten - farted around as usual, and suddenly decided I want to make a smoothie. Go into my car, went to the supermarket, bought loads of fruit and spent the rest of the morning making smoothies.

Had dinner and strolled around the Speke retail park until I had to pick my son up.

Life's hard.

If Candlemas day be sunny and bright,
Winter again will show its might.
If Candlemas Day be cloudy and grey,
winter soon will pass away.

OK Campers, rise and shine, and don't forget your booties 'cause it's cold out there.

Well, it's Groundhog day again.
And that must mean we're here at Gobbler's Knob in Punxatawney.

There is no way that this winter is ever going to end if that groundhog keeps seeing a shadow. He's got to be stopped.

Groundhog Day is a traditional festival celebrated in the United States and Canada on February 2. It is a cross-quarter day, midway between the Winter Solstice and the Vernal Equinox.

In traditional weather lore, if a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day and fails to see its shadow because the weather is cloudy, winter will soon end. If the groundhog sees its shadow because the weather is bright and clear, it will be frightened and run back into its hole, and the winter will continue for six more weeks.

The legend of Groundhog Day is based on an old Scottish couplet: "If Candlemas Day is bright and clear, there'll be two winters in the year."

Every February 2, people gather at Gobbler's Knob :D , a wooded knoll just outside of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.

Residents contend that the groundhog has never been wrong.

The ceremony in Punxsutawney was held in secret until 1966, and only Phil's prediction was revealed to the public. Since then, Phil's fearless forecast has been a national media event.

The groundhog comes out of his electrically heated burrow, looks for his shadow and utters his prediction to a Groundhog Club representative in "groundhogese." The representative then translates the prediction for the general public.

If Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, it means six more weeks of winter. If he does not see his shadow, it means spring is just around the corner.

Approximately 90% of the time, Phil sees his shadow.

Phil started making predictions in 1887 and has become an American institution..

As the light grows longer
The cold grows stronger
If Candlemas be fair and bright
Winter will have another flight
If Candlemas be cloud and rain
Winter will be gone and not come again
A farmer should on Candlemas day
Have half his corn and half his hay
On Candlemas day if thorns hang a drop
You can be sure of a good pea crop
I clutch the wire fence until my fingers bleed,
A wound that will not heal, a heart that cannot feel.
Hoping that the horror will recede,
Hoping that tomorrow we'll all be freed.........JUSTICE.

Greetings from Punxsutawney!
Phil Says Spring is Right Around the Corner!
Phil's official forecast as read 2/2/07 at 7:28 a.m. at Gobbler's Knob:

El Nino has caused high winds, heavy snow, ice and freezing temperatures in the west.
Here in the East with much mild winter weather we have been blessed.

Global warming has caused a great debate.
This mild winter makes it seem just great.

On this Groundhog Day we think of one thing.
Will we have winter or will we have spring?

On Gobbler's Knob I see no shadow today.
I predict that early spring is on the way.
