Pro evo 5. Playable Demo
« on: September 16, 2005, 01:52:39 am »
no,  i dont have a link for you fellow lovers of the pro evo, i'm after it myself.

Went on worthdownloading.com and gamershell.com, which have the playable demo, but its shit.

No picture perfect, blank screen. Big let down.

Anyone got legitimate links and knowledge on where a pro evo addict can get a hit?

played fifa for most of my gaming life, god that sounds sad, and have played about three or four games on pro evo and am convinced it is a far better game, much more realistic, and more in tune with people who understand football than fifa, but hey its your call darth

Sensible soccer shits on them both.

What I will say is this, theres bugger all wrong with FIFA, its a good game, there seems to be a stock reply to anyone who doubts the absolute dominance of pro evo about how its 'more realistic' and all the rest of it, I had the PC version of both and I just dont see it, as a programmer, I can tell you the 'realism' of PES doesnt come from better AI or any element of innovation but, as its called in the trade, 'catchup logic.'

And the fucking controls on it, how many do you need, swos got by with 'enter' and the PC version was pathetic, was laced with references to the ps2.

If that is the only downfall for you, then go to www.pesfan.com there you can download an option file.
This has all the real player names, team names, close to perfect kits and proper badges.
The only thing it dosn't change is the commentary names, but thats rubbish anyway.

I've been playing PES4 now for a year and I still haven't managed to master all aspects of the game yet, great game that keeps you coming back for more.

PES 5 is released on Nov 10 (I think) I can't wait.

So how do you play Pro Evo?  Do you control an Evo that writes books about his boyhood and consumes alcohol?

I like the little nuances that the PES series contains and continues to develop, but sometimes it can be overly fussy. Making it harder to turn when at full pelt would be realistic, but hopefully this version retains the control where, from a standing, position you can turn on a sixpence and shield the ball from the opposition.

And I also hope the 'cancel run' option is improved - it is so infuriating when a ball is close to going out of play, but the player you're controlling goes after it like a zombie after brains, even if you are not physically directing him, leading to you surrendering possesion.

It can get really annoying, and since playing WE9 i've got more penalites than in all the other pro evo games put together, very handy if your struggling to score :)
I wish I'd be a bit more spontaneous. Sometimes I feel like going out, stealing a traffic cone, putting it on my head and saying, "Look at me, I'm a giant witch."

It is harder to turn on this one, on 3 stars you can foget about dribbling, the computer players close down the space so quickly you can't even outpace defenders with Henry!! Also seems to take a little longer for players to get up to full speed when using the R1 dash button.

Played Newcastle in the Champions League on PES4 and got four spot-kicks in one game. Return leg I beat them 1-0. Thanks to a penalty! (I gave the fans value for money!)

Its not bad,  better than the last one imo, finishes are more realistic than FIFA 05 as are the ball physics.

Just scored a cracker from the edge of the box with henry, underside of the bar, the post and in.

Oooooh and another, reyes puts him on the break, henry tries to slot it in and hits the post from the edge of the area but gets the rebound with a beautiful top corner finish from a tight angle.

I read on Konami's webiste that it's not getting released until Spring 06. AND.... it's called World XI or some shit like that and not Pro Evo, as thats the British title.

I hope its not Spring 06 as that is just too long to wait. My Pro Evo playing friend has gone to Australia for a year and know one else I know plays it!! The rest are FIFA fans (dickheads) and I've not had a game for 3 months!!! I refuse to play the CPU as I find it to boring and you cant get a reaction out battering the CPU 4-0 and gloating!

I've got to wait until June 06 for a blast. How shit is that! I'd played it consitantly since Pro Evo 2 and now I'm like a rusty injury savaged 2nd divison player! So ashamed!

Bollocks, was scoring for fun earlier, havent scored in about an hours play now, getting plenty of one on ones (joys of the aerial through ball) but if I hit it along the ground the fuckers get it every time and if I put any power on it, the fucker skies like a 99p ball in a gale.

This chip shot isnt much better either.

Have you got the latest version of directx and your graphics card drivers ?

Might be worth having a look in the event viewer, see if it says anything about it and try playing it without the trainer.

This aside, after prolonged play I've realised why people think its 'realistic,' its designed to emulate what a real game of football plays out like, but this does not a realistic 'game' make (imagine an F1 game where no one overtook and you got disqualified at the end of a 3 hour race for running overweight,) the shooting is laughable and utterly random, after spending a few minutes in build up play to slot the striker through, I do not expect to see him either knob it straight at the keeper or completely sky the fucker.

On the plus side, unlike FIFA no two goals are ever the same, crossing is better and again, the superior ball physics really give it an extra element but after a while you feel like the game is playing you rather than vice versa.
