After he left football, I recall seeing a banner from Crystal Palace fans saying he was "one of their own", so he's definitely loved by those sarf landanahs.
I don't know what connection he has with them apart from managing them in a mediocre way.

I wouldn't say that banner is indicative of every Palace fan!  I think most would have jettisoned him before Christmas.
