The voice of my childhood Saturdays has passed away.  I am sure many of my fellow Reds will have been brought up on his dulcet tones reading the results at Saturday tea time.

God bless James Alexander Gordon, RIP.

Always made me laugh when he read out the Scottish lower divisions teams with all their stupid  names.

A 1001 memories of long gone Saturday evenings...me Ma cooking the tea...me and my brothers watching the Grandstand Teleprinter...and my arle fella listening to James Alexander Gordon read the footy results while cursing his pools coupon.....

RIP the voice of football.

That right peg hits it and you see the future arc of the ball and time goes al gluey like a Dali painting, and for a second there's a 20yr old StevenGerrard and your young self cheering him on through the prism. His big smile fades in an the net is shivering and J.Hart's trying not to look grateful for the privilege of being that close to greatness
