we did really great to get 25m for Harry Wilson. Not a bad player overall though.

2 glorious chances - both blocked.

Oh yeah, opening day. Not a terrible result although Brentford only got their first home win of the season this weekend.

Fairly easy start. You’d expect them to win at least 5, and maybe get another 5 points from the others so they’re slightly exceeding expectations. Had we held in for that draw the hype (from elsewhere) would be dialled down a bit.

Let them get all the headlines while we quietly win our next 3 before City.

Hype wouldn't have dialed down, Ange factor and the Fleet Street loving London teams would keep pushing it.

And depends what expectations you are setting, but I would say right now with who they have faced, they should win the games they've won other than ours, and we all know how disputable that result is.

They've had an easy start frankly. We've had the motherfucker of all starts, and yet we are only 3 points behind this title challengers apparently (and about 10 seconds in a horrendously officiated game from being on equal points)

Looking at future fixtures as well while we have difficult games we don't really have a hard run until about around Christmas (United, Arsenal and Newcastle at home) and a fair few difficult matches together, but nothing like the start we've had.

In essence I think people are vastly underestimating how good a start we have in fact had

I’m not! I think we’re more handily placed and in real terms, I see us as being 1 point off too, not 3. City (and Arsenal to a lesser extent) are obviously the ones to watch.

How did Tottenham not concede a goal in the last 25 minutes? Wide open at the back, especially on their left.

Spurs are irrelevant. They are the Junior Soprano of the Premier League taking all the heat and expectation from the media while we sit calmly under the radar.

Us and Arsenal are the only true challengers to City.

Always makes me laugh that some of our fans are concerned about Spurs. Never saw them as rivals, no history between us in a sense other than the CL final. They regularly blow it somewhere and I be shocked if they won it but even if they did its better than Abu Dhabi or Saudi Arabia winning it. No its not happening. Once Maddison and Son get injured their replacements are not great.

And let's see how they do once they play anyone that's actually good and aren't the beneficiaries of the most appalling refereeing performance of all time.

If they finish 11 points off the top that will likely have been an excellent season for them.

Oh yeah that'll be a fantastic season. That probably gets you AT LEAST 3rd

Last year 3rd was 14 points off, year before 3rd was 19 points off

Year we won it 2nd was 18 points off and 3rd was 33 points off

So yeah 11 points off in this day and age is a really really good season for this Spurs squad

Good god the Spurs love in is unbelievable from the media. It's not even Halloween for christs sake, let's see where they are in February/March time im guessing 4th about 10 points behind us and Cheatchester about 3 points further ahead in 1st.

It's always like this in the media whenever either Spurs or Arsenal have a bit of success, and their fans start acting like they're the best team ever when they've just won a handful of games. Clearly Spurs are better than last year but they've had a lot of easy games so far.

It would be so Spursy if they dont win the league from here. Biggest collapse in history, cant see it though, their title to lose, would need an epic collapse.
