I was also offered a complete replacement, but unfortunately this is not financially available at the moment. I took a different approach and discussed with roofing companies the possibility of solving only the most pressing issues. This included repairing rotten batons and fixing the immediate source of the leak without completely replacing it.
The source of the leak was an old skylight, and since I couldn’t resist admiring the stars, I installed new
roof lights , which were treated with sealant around the edges.
I hope that this was the right decision and will not bring me disappointment after the rains in the winter.
