Importing from China.
« on: September 22, 2011, 09:05:49 pm »
Looking to get something made over there and sell it over here. It's a football related item and I'm a little way down the line and I've come across one or two things along the way that I'm not too sure of. Anyone in or around the business help me out with one or two questions.
Been there, done that, getting older, bordering on part timer status. So sad but that's life.

Never imported or exported so can't really help you out, sorry.

Without giving your secrets away, though, is it regarding the product?    The product in relation to CE the mark, or testing.  or is it regarding the import or transportation of said goods, or duty.

I've imported loads of the last few years from China. I was Purchasing Manager for the UK's biggest eBay store and used to being in container loads every week. A lot depends on the type of item, how many are you bringing in and how often etc. Let me know exactly what you need to know :wave

Possibly can help too.

Certain criteria to be applied for selection of whoever you choose.

Done this too. Lots of good suppliers, lots of bad suppliers and a lot of lying/faking that goes on out there. if you can afford to try go out there but even then not a guarantee everythign is above board. also speak to some import agents in the uk for help or calculating tax and shipping to uk. what are your questions?
