Marcelo Tejera, 35, who came to fame in Uruguay with Defensor Sporting, will reinforce 'Lolo' Favaro's side for next season, and many expect the playmaker to lead the side to a good finish in the Uruguayan Championship.
The experienced attacking midfielder is well renowned around South America for his fine touch and dead-ball accuracy, having played in clubs from Uruguay, Argentina, Spain, Italy, England, Colombia and Mexico.
Last season he played for Colombian giants Millonarios, but although several clubs from the country showed interest in his services he decided to return to his homeland, place where he intends to retire at.
Liverpool are likely to be a strong unit this season. Other key signings made by the club include that of Danilo Peinado, Sergio Migliaccio and Juan Alvez.
