We may sign Salah, but I'll show my arse in the middle of town if we sign one of VVD or Keita. Not gonna happen.

I would second that, fed up of people justifying nine men behind the ball all the time, it is totally soul-destroying having to watch it constantly. Not getting any points for 0-0 is a good idea as well. I can understand people who say good defending has a place in the game, and it does, but not at the expense of the game as a whole. Referees too should play their part by protecting attacking players, who end up getting kicked out of the game. Lost count at how many teams have tried to injure some of our more skillful players, should be stamped out.
Not sure that zero points for a 0-0 draw would matter to a snide defensive unit. I agree though that creative players require more protection and any 50:50 decision should go against the defending player. Most of all, I would like a sin bin of 10 mins for any player tackling the man where there is clearly no intent to play the ball. Where a player gets injured in an over zealous tackle, the offender should sit out until the victim or his replacement comes on. Those feigning injury should sit for the period play has been interrupted. Time wasting delaying tactics should not be penalized by yellow cards but rather a sin bin of 5 mins only once the first offender has been warned by a yellow card.

Its frustrating that we failed to score from the penalty as well. Score that and we would have won, as no way would Southampton have scored.

Teams will still do that us , regardless... so its up to us to break them down.

That said, the best way to stop this 9 men behind the ball bollox is to score. This sort of tactics lends itself to no lapses in concentration, free-kicks around the area, strong chance of fouls in the box, goals from long range efforts and wicked deflections. Once we score, they can play their 9 men behind the ball tactics all they want, if they do not score they get no points

to be honest I was disappointed in Milner there (as was everyone around me)...allowed himself to be bullied in my opinion....should have got right back into the c*nts face and gave as good as he got....surprised also that no other red got involved....symptomatic (possibly) of the side's niceness?...not enough narks in this squad, ie, none whatsoever.....hopefully some of Jurgen's screaming and spitting fits will rub off on them

Agreed. Cheeky c*nt, in front of the home crowd giving it the big 'un. What we'd give for a snarling Souness in his face - fucking gobshite would brick it.

I disagree with the opinion that it should have been Milner having a go at Foster. He was taking the penalty and keeping his focus was more important. The rest of the team should have been doing something though. I think it was only Coutinho who said anything at all. Apart from that the ref should have booked him as he wasted too much time. Very poor by the officials once again.

I would expect at least 5 new players to come in the summer to improve positions - out wide, centre mid, left back and central defence

Until then enjoy the last 2 games.
