First of all, condolences to the family. Never a good news to receive, leave alone receiving it when you are far away from family. I pray for the family and for the departed soul. RIP.
Secondly, fair play to the police and the staff member. It is one thing to be saying "yeah I understand etc etc" and pushing him on to his superior officers. But to be there, showing a teeny tiny bit of empathy, giving the lad a patient listen, knowing that is exactly what he probably wanted, shows the psychological side of what, sometimes, police and members of staff have to be prepared for.
A small tribute applause will definitely go a long way in terms of showing appreciation for the fan of an opposition, yet respectable, club.
