don't tell me, you would be the first to complain if we got knocked out after fielding a completely 2nd string 11  :P

I absolutely genuinely would not. It's the league cup in a season where we have a chance to win the league.

Hopefully we are a 2 or 3 nil up and can then rest the likes of Mane around the 60-65 minute mark.

was only kidding Jack ;)

But the boss had already made 8 changes, we are missing 5 attacking players through injury, we don't have a ton of options, plus he takes each competition seriously, to get this far, they want to go on.

Maybe some are taking Leeds a bit lightly. They are doing well in the Championship, they are no mugs, they will be going for this big time.

Would of liked to of seen Woodburn start but maybe that's asking too much of him but think that starting 11 has more then enough to beat Leeds who won't be easy through, have picked some form up recently

We made 8 changes!?

to be honest there wasn't much we could do, once you lose Coutinho, Matip & Firmino. With Xmas coming up, there's not much more we could do but try and protect the players. I'm happy with the side. Leeds have also made changes so it is not so bad.

I don't see us getting too many goals today to be honest.  I see us winning of course, but not by loads of goals.  We've had dip in form in terms of finishing recently and were lucky to get the finish we did against Sunderland last time out.

I'm guessing a 2-0 win or 2-1 win tonight, even against Leeds.

Hopefully I'm proven wrong.

25 minutes to go.  Ready to get it kicked off.

The following message is brought to you by Le Jake, who due to his own lack of faith that anyone had heard of his hometown, Wakefield, put Leeds in his bio, and is now paying the price

In what is Liverpool's only chance of silverware this season, they come up against Leeds United in the Worthington Cup Quarter Final.

It's been a terrible season so far by Liverpool, failing to beat the likes of Burnley, Southampton and Tottenham in the League, whilst high flying Leeds United have stuffed some giants of the game such as Barnsley and Burton Albion.

Leeds have 26 points at this stage of the season, Liverpool 27, so it's head to head. Although Leeds are in the division below. Last time these two clubs met it was a lucky 1-0 to the underdogs Liverpool, but can they pull out another upset?

Liverpool are likely to play the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi, with stalwarts Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard out through media duties and retirement respectively, whilst Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has never beaten Leeds United in his career!

Leeds, on the other hand, can expect to call up on Souleymane Doukara and the impressively named Ronaldo Vieira, he must be good. It is widely rumoured that Leeds fan-favourite owner Massive Cello will be in attendance, but depending on how the fare in the Yorkshire derby vs Rotherham, he may be at work on Tuesday putting in some overtime to spend on more players.

Likely line-ups:
Liverpool: Mignolet, Trent AA, Klavan, Lucas, Moreno, Can, Henderson, Wij, Ejaria, Origi, Sturridge
Leeds: Who the fuck cares it's not 2002.

Prediction? 4-1 Liverpool ;D
Best preview I've read this year. Brilliant, J. :wave

You can do one in the procycling thread next season. ;D
Exercise is to the body what reading is to the mind.

"If I hadn't doped, I would never have won". "Doping improves your performance between 5 and 7 per cent, and maybe 10 to 12 per cent when you are in a peak shape.

"Doping isn't addictive but it's an instrument of power: whoever wins attracts the money; for themselves, the team and the sponsors"

Surprised Grujic doesn't get in, but this is a pretty solid team. We're doing well for squad depth these days.

Strange one that. Thought Grujic would be more involved. Slightly odd to buy him and then not play him, considering he's ahead of Stewart. Maybe he's not match fit or Klopp really fancies Stewart lately.

What's the deal with Ojo?

First match I ever went to was at Eland Road.

Leeds team was very good back then, in the late 90's.

They were playing Newcastle in peak Shearer years.  3-2 to Leeds. Harry Kewell signed the match day programme for me.

I have a soft spot for them consequentially, and hope we don't embarrass them TOO much.

5-0 would be nice.

Pleased with that team we're putting out. Nice and strong. Probably stronger than I expected, as I thought Gruijic would start over Wino, but Klopp is wanting some seniority in the middle perhaps. Quite happy to have a manager that enjoys winning football matches. Let's hope we do and carry this run on.

Interested to see how Moreno has been coached. There's a very good player in there if he can iron out the moments of daftness.

I'll predict 3-2 us.
