Can anyone shed some light on Can not starting? I assume he just can't dislodge the other 3?

Just the fact that our current 3 are playing teams off the park. Emre will play if/when there is an injury or the current 3 need resting. And Cup games.

Good team. Expected really.

Confirmed #LFC team v @SwansOfficial: Karius, Clyne, Lovren, Matip, Milner, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Mane, Coutinho, Firmino

Confirmed #LFC substitutes v @SwansOfficial: Mignolet, Sturridge, Klavan, Moreno, Lucas, Can, Origi

Is this the strongest squad for years ? Ings, Grujic, Sakho and the kids nowhere to be seen in the 18.

No passengers in this squad.

The Swans appear to be in the shit proper and Sir Ryan of Giggs is already being inaugurated in some quarters.

According to the BBC Southampton kept their clean sheet easily.  The compact diamond/5-4-1 didn't work against Chelsea and was abondoned before half time.  Arguably the fuck-ups from Cahill and Courtois are the only reason they got anything at all from that one.  Even Llorente's goal against City, well taken though it was, looks to have been due to shite defending and City could have got more.  No idea what to expect from Borja.

They may try to play on the counter but I think we have that one covered now with some real quality options at CB and they appear to lack the quality at the front and back to do that.  If they try to match our press I think they will be taken apart.

Perhaps Swans can draw some comfort from their Burnley victory but I think we have moved up a gear or two since then.  Sigurdsson may raise his game as he is wont to do against us and we should try to limit free kicks from dangerous areas.  I think Swansea are clutching at straws though if they expect to get anything from this game, indeed Fabianski may be their best hope.

Confident?  Of course we should be.  Complacent?  Not for a moment, Klopp will see to that.

Come on Redmen!  :scarf

Or is he still not 100% match fit? In which case, has he been playing for the u23s?

Why change a winning team?

Looking forward to this and expecting a win with a few more cracking goals.

I feel we're beyond this nonsense about not being able to beat the lesser teams now.

Expecting to win and be hugely entertained is a nice feeling to have and could become addictive  :P

Bring it on - lets smash 'em Reds!!

Glad to see the same lineup. Says something about how good it is that Sturridge on the bench is the logical decision.

Take absolutely nothing for granted in this league though. Any team playing at home is capable of getting their tails up and suddenly finding their form, even if only for one match. We're the team everyone's talking about right now and that gives the Swansea players reason to up their game.

This is the type of game we to tend to mess up. Especially with Guidolin on the verge of the sack. We just need to win. Don't care how.

Wasn't it in the 2013/14 season when we were responsible for getting two or three managers sacked?

Jeff Stelling just said - "Liverpool attack like the Harlem Globetrotters, but defend like the Keystone Cops". What a load of tosh.

I meant to write about this fully at some point... but our defence is outstanding at the moment and its totally under the radar because of silly/unlucky goals like the one Hull scored
We're conceding 8.9 shots per game which is exceptionally and very few clear cut chances.

Fuck Sky and their pundits.
I know it was meant as a compliment, but talking about Jürgen:
"He's got a bit of everything - a bit of Mourinho, a bit of Arsene Wenger".

Bollocks.

THEY have a BIT of Klopp in them - We've got the whole damn thing.

Come on Redmen !!!!!!!!!!
Jürgen Klopp (26 June 2020)
"We were good 4 years ago.  We were really good 3 years ago.  We were unbelievably good last year.  And this year it is absolutely exceptional.  Second to none that I know."

King Kenny to Jürgen (25 June 2020):

We're not exceptional in terms of shots-on-target-against per game though. 6th on the list in these stats. So I agree about the under the radar thing but it's perhaps not as pronounced as the 8.9 shots per game makes it sound.

Plus we concede every time someone has a shot on target anyway ! ;) https://objective-football.blogspot.com.es/2016/08/201617-main-table.html
