My only fear is that it may have now made it easier for the Tories to campaign for ditching the licence fee.

I'm hoping (probably in vain) that it may lead to removing 'politicos' from the board/positions of power.

Whereas, I'm of the the opinion that Roger Scruton was a proper wrong 'un.

The Lineker situation has exposed a loophole that the Tory run BBC will endeavour to close. They will look to have an "investigation" with a means to issuing "fresh guidance" on such matters.

It's an explanation I've given many times myself. This is a football forum but we provide other boards for discussions that might be of interest. We also reserve the right to remove posts, threads and if necessary users that go against the site's guidelines. We also may decide to do the same for the simple reason that as unpaid moderators with other responsibilities, the post/thread/user is simply too much effort.

Jim's gone over the top and will take whatever punishment the moderatio team decide upon. I have to say though, that reading the utter fucking shite that was being written on here would strain the patience of a saint.

I also have to say that I am staggered that people would behave with such pettiness in a thread started by Phil.

I'll leave it locked for a bit and clean up some of the shite. Re-open tomrrow.
