Paul Grimes
« on: September 4, 2007, 02:35:02 pm »
I watched a programme on Bravo last week called McIntryes underworld. It was about a "Supergrass" from Liverpool who grassed on his boss, John Haase. Paul Grimes was his name. Did anyone else see this?

Ive heard theres a book about the whole shabang and id like to read it. I found it interesting.

Dont know if anyone else seen this programme but id be interested on hearing their thoughts about it. Grimes grassed on his own son as well. Cant imagine the position he must of been in to do that like.

“Well to be honest with you, I’ve not got a lot to say about David Haye apart from he’s not a proper fighter, is he? He’s basically a bit of a gay fighter as I’ve said. Nothing against gays, but if there was ever a gay fighter David Haye would be one. He showed nothing! He had all the talk beforehand and he went in there and acted like a bitch!"

Seen that meself a few times. Has to watch his dads funeral through binoculars and that.

The book is a good read, easily the best crime book I've read, better than Cocky.

Powder Wars its called, just found it on amazon for under 7 quid here...

Cheers mate ill have to get that. Its not wrote by him though is it?

How do most people in Liverpool feel about him then? Is the general opinion hes a filthy grass? Or do normal law abiding people like him for taking the drug barons down?

It's wrote by a journo.

I think good on him. Less smack on the streets the better.

I dont rate people who grass on petty things like their neighbour parking on double yellows, or driving with no tax etc.

Putting smack on the streets which ruins lives is different.

They do most places. Though a few of the people I have talked to about him seem to admire him for taking them down.

Me personally, Id rather tell a copper to fuck off than tell him the time of day. Would never talk to them, especially on the scale this fella did.

The people he grassed up though, they arent short of a few quid, surely they would know where he was by now and do something about it? Whats the crack there like? How is he still around wherever he is? Ive mixed in this kind of circles with people like, though not as rich or powerful as Curtis Warren & co, but if someone had done to them what Grimes had done to these fellas, he would of been taken care of long before they ever went TO jail.

He cant be that hard to find surely? And to make a tv programme about himself, letting those who dont know who he is see his face, he must really be loopy.

Very careful and very lucky I guess.

In this article here it mentions he's had quite a few attempts on his life and that article's over three years old now so presumably there's been a few more.

In fairness the guys got a lot of bottle to show his face on tv.

Anyone know what the latest with Curtis is? Last i heard in the echo was that he was arrested in Jersey or something?

Read powder wars and cocky and powder wars is a much better read.

Wouldnt call it bottle myself like. I think people like Grimes, the one thing they miss the most is the limelight. Thats why he went on tv, these fellas normally have huge egos. I think it was a stupid thing to do. One day it will come back to bite him on the arse i think. Some nobody is going to spot him and put a knife in him or something. I think thats how it will happen. 100 grand on his head? Plenty of takers for that, Christ ive met people who would rub someone out for a grand! Never mind 100!

Why? The people who want revenge already know what he looks like. They might have had a bit of a clue about what he had done when he testified against them...

Problem is though a lot more people know what he looks like after doing that program and may think it's an easy pay day for them if they ever came across him, even if they don't properly know the people who are after him.

Who wouldnt be tempted to bundle the c*nt in the back of a van and deliver him to those who want him? They wont be that hard to find, know them or not. Id be seriously tempted, wouldnt lose any sleep over what would happen to him. Same as he wouldnt lose any sleep over the things hes done to people before turning into a grass!

This was the crux of it for me.

Find it hard to believe he has a price on his head , seen him today bold as brass ordering a cuppa in what sounds like his regular haunt by the way he ordered it . Hes deffo either truly not arsed or whomever has put a price on his head has been warned off

Powder Wars was the second worst book I've ever read.

Cocky, on the other hand, was a brilliant read.
