My problem with Gerrard's positioning is it has been neither or. I'm happy with him playing there, switching play, moving the ball from deep but he's not really been played there nor as a no.10 (which he can't really play anyway in the traditional sense of the role), he's played more in between the two. And he hasn't influenced games.

I would have definately played him ahead of Shelvey. But lets see if getting hooked at half time last week has a positive effect on Shelvey and he actually looks like he's awake today.
