Babel had an excellent pedigree when he joined us. For whatver reason, Rafa wasn't able to get the best out of him.Culturally, Hollland and Germany are very similar, it may just have been as simple as him failing to settle, maybe it is that the opposition is a little easier on the whole.

Nah he didn't 'train on'. It's a myth he wasn't given every chance to do so here

If Kenny was willing to use Babel, he'd be more useful than Jovanovic, who struggles to even get on the bench right now. Logical fact, surely?

What's this "logical fact"? Do you have your own knowledge of Jovanovic before he came to Liverpool? Do you decide who is useful and who is not based on what someone else does or based on your experience?

I think Jova's case is more of punishment for refusing to leave in Jan

That might as well be true. If it is, however, its no good. What about valuing (and giving a chance) to a player who wants to stick around and prove himself. I for one would rather see J. Cole punished because of his uninspired, woeful performances and see Jovanovic given another chance.
It's a website mate. Names can't be named. If they were, there'd be mutiny. If they aren't, people will scream ... ask for proof. But you will never find 100% proof of anything on here. So, .. look at all evidence, weigh everything up and make a decision.

I think jova problem is that he's utter crap! Desperate free transfer signing due to limited funds thankfully those days are over.

You've completely misunderstood me. I'm saying that as long as Kenny refuses to use Jovanovic, he's useless to the team. It would be the same with Messi if he was inexplicably left out of squad after squad.

Had Babel stayed I'm sure Kenny would have used him. He bought him on after 55min at old trafford and kenny said in an interview that he would have been happy if Ryan stayed but the move was good for Babel's career. I also think they thought they would be getting Ashley Young in so less reqquiremment for babel

I've seen a couple of Hoffenheim games since his move and he's shown exactly the same problems as he had with us.  Very inconsistent and shows some extremely poor touches as well as thoughtless off-the-ball movement.  Hoffenheim set up in exactly the way you'd want to get the best of him too; 4-3-3, little defensive work to do and cutting onto his right side.

He's no great loss.

He's no great loss.

I agree, he had a handful of great performances, but the rest of the time he was both lazy and inconsistent. Also, he had terrible tactical awareness.

what's with your over the top defence of Jova?
When he's played he has underperformed.

Babel although inconsistant has underperformed also but also shown flashes of brilliance
so yes, his post was logical.
Rafa tried to buy everyone.  :)
In fact, Rafa spotted Messi as a dollop of sperm but couldn't get the money from H+G.

Jova's like that girlfriend you cant dump but you treat badly enough until she grows tired and leaves.

GrkStav's like that mate who's baffled by your decision and doesn't understand why you dont give her another chance as she's so nice and a reasonable cook.

I'm pleased to see Babel doing well in Germany, but what everyone here seems to miss is that the Bundesliga isn't the Premiership. Some players might be brilliant on the continent, but as soon as they hit British shores it all falls to pieces. I bet if Torres had moved abroad, he'd be banging goals in left, right and centre.
Like he did in Spain?? ;)
Would sacrifice Fordy in a sacred Mayan ritual to have him as the next Liverpool manager

The lazy part is rough on him. His past couple of seasons saw him increase his workrate greatly. As for inconsistent and terrible awareness...I have no answer to those points!

The people @ Kicker have found him hit or miss so far (4.15 rating) and underperforming the overall Hoffenheim squad which has an average rating of 3.56.  His best games were his first three and his last two.  Nice to see him getting a consistent run of games though...

Rating of 1.0 good
Rating of 5.0 bad

Has all the talent in the world, but is absolutely brainless when it comes to use of the ball,
a shame.
