is it blasphemous to say spearing/gerrard, maxi, kuyt and bellamy should be in over downing, henderson, adam and carroll on saturday?

yes. we are playing brighton but i can't help but notice there is a shit ton more interchanging of positions -- i.e. maxi making runs through the middle -- and one/two touch footy.

i have to admit, unfortunately, i'm usually one of the first to slag kuyt but after we've left him out of the team this season, it's apparent he brings a fantastic qualities in attack in addition to his industry, both qualities henderson has yet to replicate consistently.

of course brighton are leaving a lot of room out there so this could all be rubbish.

Holy fuck! If that Craig Douglas Bellamy free kick had gone in it would have been a contender for goal of the season!!!!!

An absolute pleasure to see him in the red shirt once again!

Ok, couple of tense moments.
The one most important thing that we all must remember, in case it slipped our mind, is this club is much more important and bigger than anybody. I'll never forget that and anybody that does is being a wee bit irresponsible and stupid I think because the club is more important than any one individual. The Club is, The Club.

Could these commentators make it any more obvious that they want Brighton to win? The pair of them practically ejaculate every time Brighton get the ball in our third.

Thankfully, I've got a great stream with a Russian commentator ;D

Should be 2-0, coulda been 3-0 or even 1-1 at the end there, would like a second cos all it takes is one effort by them and they could be back in it.

Great movement from the front 4 tho

Very good for the majority of that first half, some lovely exchanges between Dirk, Luis, Maxi and Bellamy. "My word" , what a fucking free kick by Bellamy. Look pretty shakey at the back for the few times Brighton have attacked us. Hope we can get one or two early goals in the second half so Stevie will come on for the last 30 mins or so.

Great football from us. Brighton coming into it by the end, but we have enough to see this one out. We'll in Bellamy for the thunderbolt and his overall play. He's been nothing but a pest for Brighton. I want another 3 goals.

Great to see Bellamy grab the game by the balls and take some responsibility... and we're a totally different team with Dirk grafting on that right hand side, could have done with some of that against Spurs

Think it is arguable that this midfield is better than the one that started vs. Spurs.
Not only affected by the standard of opposition, but the movement has been excellent between the front four and the defensive endeavour of Lucas and Spearing has an understanding that we lacked at the weekend.

Bellamy has been excellent, as has Suarez in all departments but the finish, I cannot imagine him leaving the field of play tonight without a goal. Kuyt has been his usual self and continues to perform well alongside Luis and Maxi is just a brilliant little footballer and has done some great work helping out Jack Robinson that shouldn't go without a mention.

Coates looks very comfortable and I think we can be pleased with the first half, though disappointed we haven't put the game to bed.
I got the Lucas thing wrong. Will be right on Henderson though. Play him RM, play him CM - Not good enough and never will be.

Was that supposed to be a slight? If so, idiot. I think Bellamy was a fantastic signing. Perfect 3rd choice and his presence should have Carroll fighting hard to keep his place.

This is why I've said Spearing is THE most underrated player in our team. He's just so mobile, and he proved he can shoot with that whiskerwide shot earlier.

Decent first half, Suarez needs to get his shooting boots back on and Coates has worried me a couple times but it's his first start. We need a 2nd goal early in the second half to put the game to bed.

Was personally thinking Robinson was having more problems than Coates. That said, he's 2 years younger and not an international so hardly anything to worry about. I suppose some people are just watching Coates a bit closer because he's the 'new toy'.
Balotelli, Falcao, Cavani...

I'll be shocked if it's anyone other Etoo. Etoo or no-one. Simples.

In fact, I'll do you all a favor and ban myself from the January transfer window forum if we get anyone other than Etoo.

is it blasphemous to say spearing/gerrard, maxi, kuyt and bellamy should be in over downing, henderson, adam and carroll on saturday?

I'd say Gerrard for Adam (in the usual setup) and Bellamy for Carroll and we've got a very good team all capable of passing and moving, while leaving Downing in gives us a bit of direct play and width that we don't otherwise have.  Hendo, Adam and Carroll to the bench definitely.  If we could play with 12, Maxi would be on as he's generally good in this style as well, but he offers good depth for any of the 3 behind the striker.

I love watching this Liverpool play.  Bellamy has slotted in seamlessly.  Yes it's Brighton, but we know from last season that these players can play like this against Premier League sides.  Most of them should have been given the chance to hold onto their places and the new recruits (Adam perhaps aside once we sold Aqua and Raul) should have earned it.

Eyebrows raised Jamie when we signed Bellamy for free, but it's a no-brainer/no risk situation to sign Hargreaves on a free?  Making as much sense as always.
