Very sad regarding Peter Cormack...Goes without saying the PFA should get involved and help out but then so should Liverpool FC over a player who an integral part of our success in 1973 and 1974

Saddened to read this. You'd like to think the club could step up and offer some support.

Peter Cormack was a wonderful footballer and as you say integral to Shank's team of the early 70s. Scottish inside forward who adapted his game to play as an advanced midfielder. He weighed in with some vital goals. And as I remember, the first LFC player to wear the number 5 shirt who wasn't the centre-half (as tradition dictated back then) His career at LFC would have gone on for a lot longer had it not been for a serious injury.

I wish him all the best.

In the NFL many teams have a benevolent fund for ex-players, particularly relating to illnesses that stemmed from work. The NFLPA also helps their members. Doesn’t the players union offer help for their former members?

Very sad to read about this. For our younger supporters, this fella was pure class. Hope the club get involved in some way to help the family. All the best Pater mate.

Sad news. What an elegant player he was. Surely there’s enough money in the club to start taking care of these lads, lads who’re as responsible for the club’s standing in the world as much as anyone who’s ever been a part of our club.
