http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tv_and_radio/football_focus/9106074.stmTaking a look at this video and it was all going so well until Hansen started bashing on Rafa again. What made it worse was that it basically had nothing to do with Rafa, the question was about Liverpool's win in 2005 and how English clubs have lost their dominance in Europe but Alan went
out of his way to bring up Rafa and he 'terrible' signings and how Roy's been left a squad of shit players. What the fuck does Roy have to do with anything? It's sickening it really is how those in the media are using every possible avenue and opportunity to back Roy to the tilt. I mean Hansen goes on about how outside of Torres he can't think of a good signing Rafa has made and then after rethinking his comment says '
maybe the goalkeeper Reina'. Maybe? What d'you MAYBE? Of course Pepe's been an awesome signing. At only £6m, he's already given us 5 brilliant years and he hasn't even peaked yet. He's also the best keeper in the league. Anyway, apparently, outside of that Alan can't think of any other good signings. Is this some sort of sick joke? What's gotten into Alan recently? In the past few months he seems to have done a complete u-turn from being the most knowledgeable ex-player to giving Lawro a run for his money. The way he's talking it's as if he doesn't think Alonso, Masherano, Garcia, Agger et al aren't good signings.
It's so frustrating and just sad to watch.
Edit: The talk of Rafa begins at 2:32. Another thing I forgot to mention was how he dismissed Istanbul as a 'one off'. It's disgusting how the media have turned Istanbul into a fluke, even going to lengths of crediting Houllier with the win.
