If that doesn't work, try Audacity which is guaranteed to work. Simple to use as well.
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows

Just select "Record what you hear" and then press the red record button.

I've downloaded it but can't get it to work? Where's this 'record what you hear' option?

Double click the volume control icon in the systray and then go

Options > Properties > (Adjust volume for) Recording and OK it.

Select "What U Hear" and adjust the slider level accordingly to get a decent sound level to record, ideally peaking just under 0dB, after which the meter goes red... Danger!!

Down at the bottom right, near the clock.

It should look like a speaker, but they look like fucking allsorts these days.

Hover your mouse over the icons to tell you what they are....

Also, when doing that Adjust volume for Recording, there may have been some sources unselected in the pane below. Is "What U Hear" one of them? If so turn it on so you can see it.

You're recording in Audacity? Save it as a wav or an mp3

Don't forget to download and install the LAME MP3 codec file, otherwise you won't be able to create any MP3s.

Gotta go to work now, but if you haven't sorted it by the time I get back, I'll post some 'specially made for the Garstonite Ikea type' instructions

I did 128 for some Portishead and 320 for Ice-T Home invasion,amazing how quick it downloaded the whole album,took longer to put it on drive.

I have a Firefox plugin that puts a 'download' button underneath the video on YT. "Simple Youtube MP3 Button". Doesn't open any other tabs, just throws up the standard Windows file download prompt.

I do use clipgrab as well for videos.
