« on: January 8, 2009, 09:53:07 am »
Was wondering is the Rocky Statue in the Movie is  still in Philadelphia ?
and if so or not , if you were there would you run up the steps and start throwing a few combinations for a laugh , maybe get it on video ...

Think i would for a laugh ...... maybe a few combinations with a bit of a dance .. really would make  the kids and family  laugh or not  .. ;D

Rocky isn't real
He wasn't perfect, he made mistakes. But he was genuine. He had the best interests of the club at heart, and gave us a plethora of successful teams that we should have been thankful for.

Rocky isn't real

For sure he is ;)

Originally created for Rocky III, the sculpture is now a real-life monument to a celluloid hero.

Love the character he plays ....

Where is the statue in the film? I didn't see it in Philadelphia. The steps aren't that exciting though.

The statue was  at the top  of the steps of the Art Museum in the film. It was then moved to South Philadelphia, to the front of the Wachovia Spectrum at the sports complex.
Think it is back where it belongs ?at the top  of the steps of the Art Museum

was there in the summer and don't remember that, although I wouldn't have really cared much if it was there.

I would definitely wanna run up the stairs throwing punches.

The thing is, i reckon i'd trip over half way up, and probably roll back down the stairs in a really embarrassing manner.

Do you also make a skidding noise if you stop suddenly to change direction?

Would definitely run up the stairs with my lad chasing after me and then jump up and down a bit.

Then perhaps an ambulance and some oxygen.

When I went to Philly in 2001 the statue wasn't there, which was very disappointing.

When I went to Philly in 2001 the statue wasn't there, which was very disappointing.

On September 8, 2006, the Rocky statue was returned again to the Art Museum and placed on a pedestal in a grassy area near the foot of the steps to the right of the Museum.

Should be at the top of the steps ....IMO

At the top of  the famous 72 Art Museum steps are bronze footprints immortalizing the spot where Rocky completed his arm-pumping training runs.

Ironic that after years of opposing the permanent placement of the Rocky statue on the grounds of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the museum not only sells Rocky Stories in their gift shop but also hosted the post-premier party for Rocky Balboa
