What he did for the club, the city and the people of Liverpool is hard to put in to words.

Even more so for a fan who wasn't even born at the time.

It's not just his achievements in football management and the way he turned a second division side into a footballing institution. It's his love for the fans and his unique character that made him so great. There probably never has been a manager in football history that has had such a special bond with the fans. He truly was the man of the people.

Thank you for everything Mr. Shankly.

One incredible person whose philosophy I try to live by.
We've been through the 'Dark Days' as a club but the tenacity and resillence Shanks recognised in our support brought us through.
Kenny has brought the 'Shankly' ethos back to our club, however Rafa had them too apart from the 'Man Management' side of things.
Could you imagine Ferguson saying to Shankly: 'What's it like being the second biggest club in British Football?
Shanks reply: 'What's it like being second best?'
We're on our way back, things won't happen overnight. Let's just be patient out there!
Godbless Shanks!
