It came through quite loud and clear on the TV, round about 70-75 minutes I think, think after our players had appealed for a couple of free kicks in quick succession.

As ever, most of re noise just seemed to be bos and appeals though.

I must have been fully focused on our scintillating football at the time!  ;)

It was a strangely tame atmosphere for a Goodison derby.

Was loud and clear  :no :no :no

When opposition fans claim that it's not about Hillsborough, what is it reference to? Most of the time it's sang off the cuff, without provocation. It knocks me sick when I hear it when we all know the pain that the entire city has gone through since 1990. Sadly on matchday, it's not even a minority. Simple minded twats they are! :no

reference to Heysel

Mike it isnt just  that though is it, i know of blues and whilst they may masquerade the real meaning  behind it, even if they didnt they know damn well what the inference is, disgusting really considering  friends of family of both clubs were affected by 15-4-89 and afterwards.

The fact that it literally says "always" means people are referring to more than one thing. It's not just Heysel, whatever they may try and say to worm their way out of it.
Rafa Benitez: "I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager. Thank you so much once more and always remember: You'll never walk alone."

Majority of people who sing it don't know what they are singing about.

Mancs sing it to regards to both events I would like to think and always have done that the bitters reference it to Heysal as the whole of liverpool was effected as a city in regards to Hillsborough.

To be honest it doesn't even bother me and wouldn't rise to it. We have some fucking vile followers of our club who are just as bad in regards to Munich, every club has some dick heads.
Just don't bite to it.

Thought away support was poor yesterday also.

While I'm not denying that we have some vile followers, I'm struggling to remember the last time we have gone to an away ground and sung offensive songs en masse that were clearly audible on TV. Equally the same goes for home games, and we certainly don't sing about offensive stuff when we aren't playing those teams. Utd and Everton it happens at Anfield and at their places.
If Palace can have a fan identified and arrested for an offensive gesture then we need to be doing the same. It's been going on too long.

Shouting during minutes silence last week at Old Trafford was easily picked up.

I am not sticking up for them at all but just don't let it bother you, that is what they want a reaction. Look at some of the things that go on in European leagues which is a lot worse.
Even just up north in Glasgow.

Fuck em were miles ahead of them as a team at that is what matters

No not this. Liverpool fans don't sing it as a collective like all the other teams do. When they say always the victim it can't be about one event. Everybody knows what its about it.

And people and the press saying all fans do it only makes it worse as it justifies it in the other teams minds that all teams do it. We have the ocassional dickhead doing airplane gestures or shouting in a minute silence. We don't have a whole end of people singing these songs.

I agree with the previous poster. You disagree with both of us. No problem. Everyone has an opinion.

You also got to be aware that being a d1ckhead involves two major traits:
1. Singing sh1t hoping it will wind up the opposition
2. Being so thick that you don't even consider what yer singing!

Who is really arsed though? Fuck them, we have more class.

Like Spurs fans moaning about Chelsea fans giving them abuse about Jews but them 5 mins later singing yid army. Like above most of them wont even know why they are singing it or what it means.

People are moaning about some people singing a song, just laugh it off the poor fuckers.

I noticed that everything was getting sung really fast. I put it down to the sheer excitement.  ;D

It certainly came across loud and proud, though. I see someone managed to get a pyro off too.

Well in everyone that went. Sounded well loud on TV, especially following the equaliser.

I bet that fall was absolutely amazing, gutted to have missed it, saw a spare here and there pop up but I was in with the kids watching on a stream while the missus went out into town. Absolutely buzzing.

Hahahaha. Well worth it.

If it makes you feel any better, I had to experience it from home, on a stream as the missus was out and about and the kids in bed. As Salah took his shirt off, I took everything top half off and slid down the living room carpet and made a hole on the knee of my jeans much worse and my knee is still bleeding from the carpet burn ;D Followed by me bouncing up and down on the sofa, whispering "yes, yes, yes fucking get in" so as not to wake them.

I threw that all out the window by shouting Henderson's goal though, fortunately I didn't disturb them ;D

He' s mad . 3 Para ( B Coy )  too. Be careful what you wish for.

There's a thing in the Echo with him and his mates who hitched in 1967 around Germany to watch us in a pre season. I think against Cologne Emylyn Hughes got sent off or carried off on his Liverpool debut. Shankly knew me Dah and his mates by face as they went to every game . Aye. I see the boys are here again , free tickets and that . He met me Mum in around that time as she went to the aways too . She knitted a scarf in 1963 / 64 that she still wears to the match to this day . It's a scarf to be seen this. I think I posted it on here here years ago .

Haha, he still sounds like a top fella Kesey, as does your mum.

My dad never liked football, he was a rugby league man from Wigan. He only got into football through my ridiculous level of passion for following this football club and having to fork out £400 to send me to Istanbul. I worked from the reverse, my only connection to Liverpool other than Wigan being vaguely close was picking them in primary school to fit in with everyone else who had teams. Best decision I ever made though. What my dad lacked in comparison to your Dad's experience, he more than made up for by subbing me the money for trips to European finals and european aways I couldn't afford without his help. He passed away in January at 73. I miss him terribly, but I am taking a banner out to Porto for him. Him and me going to Europe is synonymous, so it shouldn't end now he has gone. I hope to carry it on by taking my new banner with me everytime I leave these shores as a tribute to him  :wave
