Tragic Death of man working at Bramley Moore Dock
« on: August 14, 2023, 03:26:50 pm »
Hoping it's just a rumour about what's just happened but got a mate working next to their ground who's heard the sirens attending the site.

Quote
A man has died at Bramley Moore Dock this afternoon.

Health and safety chiefs are dealing with the incident after the 26-year-old died following an incident. A number of emergency service vehicles are at the scene, close to the construction site for Everton's new stadium.

Laing O’Rourke has confirmed the man was carrying out work at the time of his death.

A spokesman for the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) said: "We can confirm we have been made aware of an incident and are making enquiries."

Mates said a fella has died in a machinery accident. Hopefully just Chinese whispers coming out of the site and just a small accident.

Reading it tho, it's not good when workers have been told to leave the site. And with my mate working next to it and being told I'm inclined to fear the worst with it.

Awful at any age but it always seems worse when it's one so young. Really sobering news on a day when people are bed-wetting over nowt more than a failed transfer.

The internets awash with that sort of stuff these days, unfortunately. I understand morbid curiosity, but there is also such a thing as basic decency which too many people forget as soon as it's being sent via phone or internet.

RIP to the young lad.

The young man who sadly died at BMD has been named as Michael Jones from Kirkby. He was also a lifelong Everton fan.
