Biggest Divers in Premier League History

Who do we think the biggers divers in the league were? I've added a few that I think would be nailed on to be listed, but if you add names and a few people agree, I'll add them to the list

You get three votes each. I'll clear the list of votes when we're ready to roll and have all the names

I don't remember Linekar or Shearer diving too often. Nor Beckham, Scholes, Rashford or even Fernandes.

I can buy Rashford and Fernandes, but agree on Lineker, Shearer, Beckham and Scholes, none of them really had reps as divers at all.

Maybe I don't watch them enough. I do think he's bellend, but not in a diving sense.
Like many players he goes down far too easily, but I can't remember too many occasions of him going down with no contact at all, or being a specialist like Kane, Grealish and Vardy.

Yeah there's a difference.  Players like Jota and Suarez will go down at the slightest touch sometimes, but I don't think they actively look to dive, unlike someone like Vardy (or even Nunez, who already has a few dives to his name with us).

Weird list. Some of them are dirty players but not divers (Shearer, Scholars). Linekar was neither. Then it's missing all the players that came to mind initially when I saw the thread title. Pires, Diego Costa, Andrew Johnson.

In fact, no Arsenal players at all which is mad because they're the team I'd most associate with diving both now and historically.

Deli Ali was awful. I think he has been booked for diving something like 5 times. There was a point if I recall that he was the most booked player for diving in Premier League history, but that may have been beaten

I remember Luis doing a ridiculous dive v Stoke at Anfield, which he owned up to, but like Jota, there was usually a contact that was enough to justify going down. I also remember Coutinho trying to stay on his feet at Stoke after a foul, missing the shot and getting nothing for it

Or like Jota, he goes to take a shot, gets smashed into by some Spurs c*nt and Michael Oliver decides it's fair game and Jota stopped running to initiate the contact.

Robert Pires was a massive diver. Great player though.

I only ever see him called out for a dive against Portsmouth early in their unbeaten season to salvage a point. Never seen the incident and have no idea if he was a repeat offender.

Definitely agree that there’s different categories:

- those who deliberately initiate contact to take a tumble (Kane, Vardy, Grealish)
- those who throw in the occasional complete dive over fresh air (Suarez?
- those who exaggerate the slightest of touches to roll about in agony (Fernandes, Ronaldo)

Not sure which category annoys me the most. Probably the first one because those fuckers never seem to be called out for it.

The first annoys me the most, simply because the majority of pundits and commentators call it "clever play", when it's actually cheating.

Ayew at Palace is supposedly the most fouled player in the league this season, but that's because, like with Grealish when he had the same "distinction" at Villa, he's a fecking diver.
