Unreal from Sifan Hassan in the London Marathon.

Just read it was the most amazing marathon ever !

Kelvin Kiptum wins the mens in the second fastest time ever. Seems like it was a good one !

Zarnell Hughes becomes the fastest Briton over 100m. 9.83, breaking Linford Christine's record which had stood for 30 years.

When Linford Christie run that time it was the 2nd time fastest time ever. Puts Hughes 15th on the all time list, just a quarter of a second behind Usain Bolt. Better shoes. better strength & conditoning.

Yes! Looking forward to this :)

Johnson-Thompson has a chance of gold, especially with Thiam being out and men's 100m and 200m should be good this time round with Lyles, Knighton and Zharnel Hughes on form. And looking forward to Femke Bol in the 400m.

Shame there's some who are injured/missing it due to precaution but still should good.

Yes, love athletics and looking forward to a major championship as usual.
Disappointed with the withdrawals if those athletes who 'are not ready' or 'want to concentrate on Paris'.
I really don't understand that..
Athletes should always strive to compete at major championships. Missing this championship is no guarantee that they are injury free next year.
Athletics needs it's top stars to compete in championships, and more regularly throughout the season. Some of these 'missing' stars race very infrequently (yet arrive at championships in world class form)
Not sure what the answer is, but something needs to be done.

True, but there was a Championshipa last year too. Maybe it’s lost its appeal slightly? Jake Whiteman is out injured which is a shame.

Not her greatest event, but a pretty worrying performance from KJT in the hurdles. Looked really heavy in her sprinting.

I've said before and I'll say it again, Michael Johnson is P4P #1 the best pundit the BBC have.  So glad that he decides to work with us than anyone even the U.S broadcaster.  Must be over 20 years he's worked with the BBC? :D

Joint highest jump in the high jump (best event from memory?). She’s 4th after 2 events, 3 Americans in front of her.

Fairly confident both were going to lose anyway?! Especially Hassan, which the BBC commentators seemed oblivious too.

The relay finish was mental though. You'd expect Femke Bol to be pulling away from Holmes, but she'd well and truly fucked it before the fall.
And if the rain stops, and everything's dry.. she would cry, just so I could drink tears from her eyes.

Yeah, love Bol but she screwed up. Holmes waas going to overtake her and she knew it and panicked and that caused her to fall.

Also helped GB get a silver.

Good to see Wayde Van Niekerk running well again. Pretty much lost 4 years to an ACL injury and while I'd be surprised if he medals here, it's still good to see him putting up competitive times again.

Chris Coleman also looked very good in the 100m heats. Best starter in the field in my view, but doesn't always finish as strong.

Vetter's PB is 2:17.71, a long way off KJT's 2:07.26. The big threat is Anna Hall whose PB is 2:02.97, over 4 seconds quicker. KJT has a lead of 43 points which apparently translates to a lead of about 2.5 seconds. It's going to be close.

I thought she’d had some injury problems again and was a bit down on herself. Hadn’t seen she’d done well in that annual event in Austria (I think). Should be a great finish.

Yeah, she's had injury problems but recently has been fit I think. Don't get me wrong, she wasn't favourite and she's no doubt been helped by Hall not looking fit since the the high jump so it was going to be tough. Just thought she had a chance.

Noah Lyles, Christian Coleman, Oblique Seville, Ferdinand Omanyala, Zharnel Hughes all got a chance. Lyles looks the best so far but Hughes has the fastest time in the world this year though his starts in these championships haven't been the best.

Think Lyles will nick it though.
