Seeing that the FA are meeting right now to talk about the Spurs replay. Maybe they will try and do something about the tickets at the same time.

No that would be what an efficient organisation would do, the FA have pencilled in a meeting to discuss this on June the 27th

Anyone Been Offered Spares?
« Reply #842 on: May 10, 2006, 06:00:37 pm »
Just wondering if anyone has been offerered, or knows anyone who's been offered spares? Surely with 1600 knockin around, and with all the publicity of the threat of arrest, then the thief will struggle to get rid. If some were retrieved, then there is a chance of some fans ending up getting their tickets. Surely someone knows who's got them. (the club should offer a reward if they're found by friday!)

What a mess.

Ok, so worse comes to the worse, these tickets don't get reprinted.

Will these 1,600 fans be made guests of honour at the charity shield or be given tickets for next years final or the next final we're in for that matter?

Doubt it. FA make my skin crawl

Complete and utter joke. He should be prosecuted for allowing thieves and people in posession of stolen goods in the ground.

He just tried to absolve himself (and the stadium officials) of any responsibility by saying the decision on duplicates had already been made on safety grounds. Burns pointed out that Merseyside Police had offered to help getting fans to their seats if they had duplicates. Seargent then said they would not expose the public or stadium staff to the possibility of two people arguing over a seat and therefore admitting that they wouldn't eject people with stolen tickets.

In all my years following Liverpool FC and my local club Glentoran FC I have never come across such a debacle has this. The way I see it Liverpool FC, Royal Mail and that fat prick from Cardiff are ALL to blame. How the hell can you ask people to fork out their hard-earned for a ticket, make them pay for guaranteed delivery and not give the people their tickets? It really does defy belief. Wednesday night and I would guess at least 6,000 people havent a scooby where they'll be come kick-off time on Saturday.

There are only 2 teams in Liverpool. Liverpool and Liverpool reserves.

There will never be 1,600 confrontations. People with stolen tickets won't even be in the seat anyway. Surely if you bought a stolen ticket you'd be wise enough to keep a low profile and not cause a fuss, etc.

It's a cup final for fucks sake, they're not going to go and sit in the seat on the ticket and claim it's theirs. They'll be avoiding that chance altogether and will be standing next to their mates.

Absolutely spot on. Would you risk it knowing duplicates had been issued and the bizzies were waiting to cuff you inside the stadium?

How do you distinguish between stolen tickets and not stolen tickets though?  Check every ticket to a list?  People would have to start going into the ground first thing in the morning.

potentially, altough parry said this morning most of the tickets are in bulk blocks, so specific turnstiles check etc.

It's nigh on impossible to check at the gate. The influx of fans just before kick off is immense, the City Arms is only five minutes walk from your seat.

But you have to remember that people were calling the TO this morning to tell them they'd had their tickets delivered when the TO had already called to say they were stolen. I don't believe that Parry or anyone in the TO are in the position to say that just yet.

there is only one way this should be done for me.

all fans who are affected by this will no doubt have a receipt or confirmation that they bought these tickets legally.

all these fans should be told to arrive at the ground eg: 8 or 9.00 am & produce their details/ID &  they will be allowed into the ground there & then with amenities laid on.

all others who produce the stolen tickets will obviously not get in.

pretty simple, but surely something should be done similar to this.

I'd advise anyone who hasn't got their tickets yet to check with their local sorting office. I've had examples in the past when the postie has not had/put through a card and the goods have been returned to where they were sent from. A folorn hope but worth a try.

Paul Seargent (Millenium Stadium) admits live on the BBC that they will not eject people with stolen tickets. Good lad Gordon Burns for putting the arrogant twat in his place.
The reason for that is they still haven't got a clue which tickets have been stolen, and they can't issue duplicates for the same reason. Earlier in the week they stated they knew which tickets were among the 1,600, yet when the TO phoned me today they asked if I'd received mine yet, despite previously telling me that mine had been stolen. And don't get me started on the ballot...

how would you stop the stolen ticket-holders getting into the stadium though

you get all the legitimate people in early, but there is still not enough man-power and time to check every ticket coming through the turnstiles to see if it is stolen or not

Who was the guy on SSN who went to TO on Mon. & was told he was not on the list
Then still nothing today he went back and he was on the list....wonder is he on RAWK...

Now thats the last thing I needed to hear tonight another call so tomorrow to double confirm
that I'm not or am on the stolen ticket list
I told you about the tractor doing the pillar box 2001 and all the tickets had off, now they hitting the vans, what next, guns in the T O window.

Just as it's patently obvious to everyone that would be the case anyway.

If they could evict people with stolen tickets then they'd be issuing duplicates.

why does a supporters club qualify for tickets when it should be based on its members loyalty? giving tickets to an institution takes away opportunities for individual fans and smacks of hypocrisy.

As already answered, about 20 of the people whose tickets are down as stolen including me qualified from being lucky enough (or unlucky) to go to Burnley twice last season. The others basically ended up with enough credits to qualify with out worrying about the ballot.

Yer not wrong. League cup final against mancs, left City Arms 5 mins before and made the seat before kickoff.
