Now hopefully the punishment is proper. Talk of 1 year is laughable, would be a total waste of time. 5 years should be the starting point at the absolute best case for City, especially as they still refuse to admit their guilt.
Never going to get five years!

I think one maybe two years, a monetary fine and more stringent checks on their accounts going forward would suffice.

I think even if UEFA don't ban them, it just shows the rest of Europe are aware of what they are.
if they do eventually win the champions league they'll get no respect from Germany, Spain, Italy etc. which will really wind them up

The Mancs are getting all excited now as they think that they will get the CL place if you win the Europa.

That's where theyre mistaken, had we finished 4th and won Europa, then only 4 teams in CL. The fifth place only comes into place if the winner of Europa/CL finishes outside top 4. There is no scenario in which United get into CL, they would have needed to finish 5th ahead of us.

Would be fucking boss to see UEFA strip away all the owner funded ‘sponsorship’ money and see their revenue half (for FFP purposes), as well as get a grip on how they fiddle the wages.

That would screw them more than anything else as their wages would outstrip revenue.

Fair enough. It's a phrase that completely enrages me, and I'm attempting to highlight the hypocrisy of using it here. But I'll delete it.

Cheers mate. I know you wouldn't be using it lightly and it was probably the hypocrisy angle you were going for.

I just think by us using that phrase it takes away from what it aimed at. And how hurtful and disrespectful the connotations of that phrase are. There are certain things that opposition fans say that will be water off a duck's back to me. That phrase isn't one of them and is completely unacceptable for any opposition fan (or player) to use it.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

They need a transfer ban as well as expulsion from the CL for two seasons. With no chance of appeal. Won't happen like, but that would really fuck them up.

Lets say they get a 12 month ban (after years of legal wrangling no doubt). The horse has already bolted. They pumped huge sums in at the start. If you had told the owners back then that you can get away with that, thus building what they need to be successful, and ultimately it would result in a 12 month ban from the CL then they would have taken it.

If they are found guilty of breaking the rules, somewhat brazenly, then 12 months is nothing.

Another aggressive stance taken by Man City :

https://twitter.com/ManCity/status/1128935006062206976

This will end up getting dragged out for months and then they'll get away with it.

Exactly the sort of response that would expect from them.

Their owners are used to being able to do what they want and buy what they want and nobody can stop them in their minds.

UEFA are in their eyes a total non entity to just be walked over or bought like any other obstacles put in their way.

Would be nice if their league titles were rescinded, the cheating c****.

Yep, we would have our elusive title, but as others have said, I want to win it on the pitch.

AND...

If that happens, then United would have two extra titles - 2012 and 2018...

Well UEFA should know that this clearly shows that a £49m fine and transfer restrictions from 2014 have no impact on these guys. Another fine would be the equivalent of making them play games behind closed doors.

You're probably right, but if UEFA is serious about clawing back any bit of credibility, they simply have to ban them. The whole footballing community is watching. They are going to have to take action.

Defo shouldn't suffice, what's a year going to do for some of the most blatant cheating we've ever seen in the sport? Would be a waste of time. 2 would feel like it has some sort of impact but still not enough.

The ban isn’t the biggest thing to come from this - UEFA checking through every deal with a fine tooth comb and ruling out and funds coming from the owner would absolutely fuck them, as well as getting them to stop by passing wages by paying in dodgy ways.

There is no chance with increased wages and decreased revenue (in FFP terms) that they’ll pass FFP.

It would then also put pressure on the FA/PL to act.

With the transfer window opening, does anyone think City will now try and get 3-4 massive transfers through the door before they could possibly face a transfer or CL ban?

They are being investigated over transfers anyway which is likely to result in a ban so I think a decent spend is on the cards.

Plus they may take the view that they’re fucked anyway so may as well just blow FFP right out the window.

Rightly so.

Most football clubs are run as businesses, or at least are trying, to make profit. City’s owners are not interested in profit - not in terms of £ anyway.

They’re a loose cannon. And football owners, such as ours, who want FFP to be adhered too (for numerous reasons) will be fuming.

I get the feeling UEFA don't like Man City, they got lucky with dirty money, not even any good in Europe and more importantly they are bad for their 'brand'

Man City are not exactly 'box office' nobody outside their corrupt regime would give a fuck if they got banned.

If UEFA are to show some muscle over cheating this is exactly the team to do it against.

For any City lurker who wants a small measure of how meaningful your club and its success is to us, this thread was started in 2011, and has 714 pages.

The Utd thread was started in 2017 and has 726 pages, even though they're shite.

The old Everton thread, started in 2014, reached 1995 ( :D ) pages, and they're even worse.

Meanwhile the Bluemoon Liverpool thread, started in June 2018, has 2069 pages, second only to Utd on 2072. They've just won the league, yet half their threads on there are talking about Liverpool. Your fans shouting 'Scouse c*nts' upon winning the league, your players singing songs about Liverpool upon winning the league. Obsessed.  :wave

What's even greater is the media have already forgotton about City winning the league (I mean it's not much of a story is it?). The Champions League final on the other hand, whoever wins it, will undoubtedly be getting more coverage. That must sting. Your financial irregularities are all over the media though. Unlucky.
