Nice to see them practising ball retention.

Nice to see Poulsen pulling his weight as usual!

It's funny that both Babel and Poulson are like "hey there are cameras here!" It happens every week boys.

I think I was at that, 3-1 to the Mancs, Beckham scored a free.

Sorry to be anal, although that was also 97 it was autumn time so would have been the 97/98 season. The one close to Hillsborough was also lost 3-1 when James had his spectactular fuck ups to gift Andy Cole a couple and help hand them the title. As you were!...

Now that you mention it, I don't recall a Hillsborough vibe that day. Mind you, I blocked out most of the day anyway.

Let me know if you recognise anyone in the pictures, Stuart's always interested to get people's memories to put in his books/exhibitions etc. (The one of the girl with the pram was in the Echo a few years ago so we could find her!)

I'll stick some more up later if people still want to see them, better get back to work for now though.
The pic of the woman with the pram was also in a German Football Magazine called "11 Freunde" (pretty popular in Germany)
Some article about how football is seen in England or something
I was in Alder Hay with an abscess on my hip in about 1973 and Bill Shankly never came and played the bongos for me.

Rush, no? Or were you joking? :P

Nice pics btw SamiSamiHyypia!

Rushie looks a bit short from this angle but yes, he is on number 9 and the hair looks like his. But in the old day's, players weren't assigned a shirt number all season and you had players using all numbers across the board match to match sometimes. That's why I wasn't sure.
This is what we do. And we do it very well. Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bM8gOyjeuc

Tanner, Burrows, Molby, Grobelaar....can't figure out who is the number 9. Redknapp?
Rush. We won 2-1 in March 1992.  The line up for thus match was:
1. Grobbelaar
2. Jones
3. Burrows
4. Nicol
5. Molby
6. Spanner
7. Saunders
8. Marsh
9. Rush
10. Barnes
11. Thomas

Yeah his pictures are in Freunde pretty much every month, and Ballesterer(spelling?) too. His new book Cradle Of The Game is in fourfourtwo this month too, they're doing a readers offer thing. It should be reviewed in the Observer in the next few weeks. Worth a look out if anyone reads it anyway!

I can confirm that on this subject at least, there is an almost cultish obsession, which I find quite unnerving.

Well I'm no expert, but since most of the Brazil team play in Europe, it's a longer flight to Brazil.
Just checked it, 14 hrs from Rio De Janeiro to Qatar. 7 hrs from London.

All players who have worn the jersey were honored at the Soccer City of Las Rozas on the theme 'Thanks to all, the dream has come true'. To mark the victory in the World Cup, could be seen former internationals of all time: Di Stefano, Luis Suarez, Luis Aragones, Mendieta, Francisco, Michel, Camacho, Abel ... along with an appearance from S.Blatter :D
