Pat Nevin on the radio commentary the other night said Kieran Tierney is Scotland’s best left back. Discuss. Personally, I’ve not seen enough of Tierney to say one way or the other. But I have heard more than enough shite from Nevin over the years, especially about Liverpool FC, to suspect that this is a deliberate wind-up. He also said Arsenal had got a bargain, which is interesting, considering they paid three times what we paid for Robbo - a record fee for a player bought from the Scottish league. Is he really *that* good? Compared to Robbo? Really?
£25m is a fair price for him, Robertson is worth north of £50.
Andy’s Scotland captain and has been our best left back based on selection since circa 2014. Pat Nevin is an ex Chelsea and Everton player.
Crosby Nick never fails.
It wasn’t just Nevin who said Tierney was better, although since he moved to England I’ve heard it said far less! Was it just Celtic fans too who rated him higher was that the consensus with a lot of Scots (I’ve appointed you spokesman for the nation Roy!)?

My scouse, the often busted but seldom battered Mr Flabby Whore Alien. Who will not send in cottoned wool, bubbled rap, shiny sliver spaced blanket and sum beefy Bovril to keep it warm and safe and snag as bag in a rag? Oh Whore yours is a sweeter leftish peg
if I came home to allison in bed with my wife I'd ask him to phone Virgil to see if he wanted to pop round too.
I think the same, can't stand him, but if you could have a £1million pound cheque or steve bruces head hollowed out and filled with pound coins which would you have?
He left the impression of a little dog that hasn't been in the dog park in a long time... Let's run, run, run, I pass, you pass... So much fricken energy in that guy!
Was brilliant to see him do what he does - a few right foot passes too which I always love from him. The number of times he took a throw from Alisson and timed his acceleration perfectly to carry the ball from defence into the final third was lovely to see, took advantage of the space offered by their compact shape to basically bypass their midfield over and over again.
He looked shattered after 80 minutes, yet kept sprinting up and down the line! Love him.
Thank Fowler we're not getting Caulker
Liverpool have still never won a league title without a Scotsman in the team.Get in Robbo.
Cheer up lad. Things might improve. -------Andy Robertson✔@andrewrobertso5life at this age is rubbish with no money #needajob4:12 PM - Aug 18, 2012
Is there a player more than him that embodies the current Liverpool!?
Can we have the real Robertson back?We need to exorcise the ghost of Jose Enrique out of him.
Anyone have the story about the 19th hole at Formby Hall that was mentioned in the Telegraph tonight??
Not heard nothing about this can anyone elaborate?
Maybe I've just not been paying attention but it jumped out at me when Nevin said it the other night because I've not heard the line before. But then I remembered Nevin makes a habit of talking shite so assumed it was just one of his specials.A quick bit of googling turned up a piece from last year by John Hartson saying Tierney was better. That's former Celtic and Arsenal 'legend' John Hartson, of course. He also said that Tierney was a bargain, comparing him to the fee United paid for AWB. But I would have said AWB was overpriced at £25m too, and United are basket cases when it comes to the transfer market so what they do is no yardstick.
Its all about winning shiny things.
